Clunk Updates

I will say this. My new car is sitting on the dealer's show room floor. 1 Titanium Mazdaspeed. I want the clunk Fixed before I get it.

Now, if your new car was sitting there, waiting to be driven, how hard would you push to get the fix situated? :)

My car arrived last Wednesday. I'm doing everything I can guys. I am very pleased with the efforts I've seen so far. Don't give up yet.

I hope your right as I am dumping another $2K into the damn car.

i just got my car back, another set of bushings. My dealer wouldnt buy me urethyne ones so they just got me another set opf the 156D.

does anyone offer any aftermarket bushings that fit yet? If not, I've been talking to one of my friends who can make them. If those energy bushings don't fit right or are the wrong hardness then that could easily cause the squeeking

Well, just picked up my Speed from the shop....newly replaced bushings (Part#BN7H28156D - Canada), and NO clunking. These bushings are 'apparently' the new MCI fix; atleast that's what the dealership told me.

It's still early to tell, but hopefully these bushings will alleviate the clunk for the long-term. I'm really hoping so.

Well...almost been 2 months with the replacement D's....the Clunk is slowly coming back. It is more noticible when it's raining out.

i dont know abotu any one else but it's been 3 months and no clunk or squeek. that thick tape really has done the trick! i suggest you guys try it out.

BTW what size in the rear swaybar on the mp3? 20mm? or 21.5mm?

hmm........somebody has been looking at the AWR bar.......don't worry you're not alone.....

That damn thing looks beefy!

I'm pretty sure the stock bar is 20mm

my friend with a P5 has the AWR bar......... it squeaks and clunks too........ so there goes that idea...

Sigh.............. when is Mazda gonna give us some update on the new bushing fix........ this is getting dragged on toooooo long....

i was planning on getting the awr if mazda doesnt do something soon. that sucks he get a clunk and squeek. Is he greasing them??

My teflon tape fell off the back the first time they put it on. now i got new bushings and tape. we will see how long this last.

I brought my car in last week and at first my dealership didn't want to replace the bushings as this was my first time doing it at that dealership.

I phoned Mazda Canada, and logged a formal complaint about the dealership, but more in general I was bitching them out in regards to the problem still being out there. The lady was pretty helpful tho and called the quality control people and let me know that althought there is no specific date set, that Mazda Japan is working on a permanent fix and is expected to have it completed before the end of the summer. Keeping my fingers crossed!

END OF THE SUMMER?! :wtf:

arg................... are there ever gonna be any progress?!..........

To all the Canadians out there ..... Do all you guys want to organize something so we can all b**** at Mazda Canada at the same time?

Maybe organizing a time frame for each of us to call MC and find the same rep to b**** about this problem?

I have to believe Mazda either Gave Newf the MSP for free and some cash, like $500,000 or they are in his mind atleast on there way to a serious fix.
He wouldn't be taking the MSp tomarrow if they weren't.
Just be thankful your not in the US-(go **** yourself it not our problem)-A

Hey, I'd be in for that.

The replacement D bushings that were placed on my car last May are starting to fail again...the Clunk is coming back. The dealership told me they have heard no updates regarding the permanent fix.

Uh Ohhh

Did anybody see the part (bracket) Racing Beat made for the MP3 Project? It was supposed to relocate the rear sway bar mounts!!! Mazda did not accept this part for normal production but it was created cuz of a potential problem!!! Read about it. Click on Link. Click on Mazda Protege and then Project MP3. Look at the left "under car" pic. When you click it it will tell you abot it. racingbeat.com
