clunk noise

Hey I just bought a MP3 about a month ago and noticed when driving over bumps there is an odd clunk noise in the rear anyone else have this problem...Love the car though turns a lot of heads

welcome to the site! yes your mp3 WILL klunk. best way to fix is to turn your radio up. thats the life of the mp3.









or go to the stealership and pay $36 for new bushings for the sway bar. if your on stock springs........wait till it gets colder. then you get the mp3 squeak! but dont let that get you down. thier GREAT cars. its just those 2 little things. but once you get past them its just an amazing car. dont be shy and stick around. you can get some great help here.

Mine has the same problem. Your can fix this by relubing the back bushings in the sway bar. Alot of ppl have this problem.

using white grease doesnt last long enough, but yes i've tried it.

It's the spare tire. Don't listen to these guys. (glare)

In my car it is the spare tire despite what (poke) James says. I don't have a tie down clamp on my spare tire and thumps around. I just turn up my system and I can't hear it. It could very well be the bushings, just make sure that your spare is secured as well.

lol i doubt its the tire... could use some padding mayb it could be. but very doubtful. everyone found it to b the bushing on the sway bar.

What's the matter with you guy ...

I posted a permanent fix for the problem a long long time ago.

Put a shim type spacer between the frame and the bushing.

I bought my MP3 brand new in 2001 had the bushings replaced 3 times by the dealer and that's when I decided to take care of the problem myself!
