I've been hearing a clunc in right rear of my mazdaspeed but not all the time. What's the cause and why? I don't drive my car too much in the rain, so maybe that's why i don't hear it all the time. Looking forward to some detailed info. Thanks.(cheers)

From what everyone says, the clunk is from worn/faulty rear bushings that many people have had replaced by the dealer under warranty. Do a search on it and you'll find plenty of info.

tell them to swap the rear bushings in the struts or something

anyway i dont have the clunk, but i dont go over speed bumps at 20 mph either =\

check out the mp3 sections, it only applies to MSP and MP3's it is the bushings on the swaybars. Mazda is comming out with a fix, or at least thats what they have been saying.

I just found that my bushing was cracked and the dealership ordered a new one for me. I had started to notice a metal on metal rattle noise so I just looked while I was washing the car and sure enough, the bushing was cracked in half.

o.......k jack the front end of the car look at the front motor mount and follow the "bar" that it mounts on back, try wobbling it and there may be a loose bolt on that bar in the back of your motor thats what my problem was
