Climate control panel button backlighting disappeared

:
Mazda CX-9 2011
I noticed a few days ago that the backlighting of the climate control panel buttons disappeared.
Is there a fuse responsible for this?
It may be a trifle, but when driving at night, apart from the display, the entire panel is dark and you have to operate it blindly. You can't see whether functions such as zone 3/rear climate control or rear window heating are on, etc.

Before it goes to an electromechanic, maybe there is some advice.

P.S. A few days ago, a marten was a guest under the hood.

Silly question, but are you sure your headlights are either turned on or on auto ?

The backlighting is linked with the headlight control and turns on when your headlight are turned on. When my car goes in the garage they usually turn off my headlight and have to remind myself to put them back to auto.

Yes, of course, I checked it in the headlights mode.
Unfortunately, it doesn't help.
The panel's functions tend to work all but none of the buttons are illuminated, so you can't see if a given function is enabled. Only the air conditioning display lights up. Until recently it worked, so I don't know where this problem comes from.

Ok just had to make sure it wasn’t an easy solution like that.

I am not sure honestly and hopefully someone else can provide more help. If you are confortable with wiring diagram you can check here:

And maybe find the fuse that is linked to the illumination. That would be my first place to check, but i am not sure if there would be a single fuse dedicated to the illumination of the climate control on its own. Maybe the fuse identified Hazard or the Meter1 fuse.

Everything else in the car works perfectly? The dashboard illumination is good, etc ?

I haven't noticed anything else stop working either. That's why I can't find the fuse associated with it :/ I'll check the ones you mentioned.

Ok. I don’t have my car to compare at the moment. I found someone else with the same issue here. Someone proposed a different fuse or to check for a ground wire, but the OP didn’t say if it fixed is problem.

I checked and there is no fuse box named Panel. Regarding the G10 wire, I have absolutely no idea which one it could be. There are a lot of cables under the dashboard and for a layman, I don't know which one it is G10

Ok. I see two other fuses that may be linked to it: INTERIOR and C/U 1G1.

Sorry i can’t help much more, it could be as simple as a wire connector that is not fully seated somewhere. I also noticed that you have an aftermarket remote starter installed, sometime a bad wire spliced in those installation can be the culprit, but i don’t know if they used the climate control light wiring or not for it.

Thanks for the additional tips. I'll check the fuses you mentioned. The remote starter was already installed since I bought the car 3 months ago. So I don't know who installed it to ask what they were connecting to. I also asked on the forum to which you sent me the link, about this case, since it has already been discussed. . I'll see if they write back and tell me which G10 cable it is. You are very helpful and thanks to you I already have some tips. If I end up having to take the car to a mechanic I will tell him where to look

I wanted to inform you that I visited a car electrician last night, and the issue has been fixed. The problem I was facing was that the lights in both the front and rear climate controls were not working, along with the fog lights. The electrician checked all the fuses, which seemed fine, but he decided to remove and replace them. After doing so, all the lights started working properly. He replaced the fuses from the internal cabin fuse box and showed me the old ones, explaining that they were of very cheap quality. Even though the fuses appeared to be functional, they weren't working as they should. The issue was resolved by replacing these fuses, although I'm not sure exactly which ones he replaced, but I assume they were related to the fog lights.

Great that you found a solution so quickly. My fog lights work so I don't know if I have the same problem

Hello Everyone,

So just acquired a cx9 2010 sport used @ 141k miles, minor findings was no lights in gear shifter as well as hazard light.

I did managed to find a drop bulb in for the gear shifter from auto zone, however upon installation the bulb was not sitting properly, the bulb did lit just to mention , i keep on adjusting and twisting then suddenly no more lights in the bulb, now in the evening i noticed some backlights climate control, lift gate, and steering wheel illumination also not working(function still works) ,i'm assuming i shorted something....till now i'm running out of basic diagnosis...please help...

Hoping we have an auto electrician expert that can provide trouble shooting instruction and guidance...

Neil
