Climate control panel button backlighting disappeared

Same here, however I did found the bulb socket on the gear shifter is electrically shorted and not getting the 12v,assuming its affecting the illumination in steering wheel switches, climate control and also the hazard switch...

anyone can recommend next step trouble shooting?

Worse,I may booked for an auto repair shop to further diagnose and fix my issue;just horrible currently in the evening...i will put an update here once fix...

Just curious,do you have illumination on your hazard button?you have a 2011 cx9 right?also for the door lock/unlock button does yours have back light illumination?

if your issue then is just the climate control,I would recommend to buy a spare climate control in ebay,i got mine 20$ however it did not fix my issue....

Update: Diagnosis: Missing Ground Wire, rather then tracing, they manually added a ground wire,im ok with this as me and my buddy have the same analysis...just not confident where to tap a ground wire.Overall all climate control ,gear shifter, steering wheel ,2nd row climate control back illimuniation are all fix.
The one item i observed is the hazard switch has no back light illumination...minor may replace the switch later on. Cost $203.44

Great that you found a solution. I've also read about this grounding wire but I don't know where to look for it.

@ravcx9...if your steering wheel illumination and 2nd row climate control have back illimuniation...pobably your issue is isolated only in the climate control front...i got a climate control for only 20$ in ebay...dismantling the panl i think id doable and the climate control had 3 connectors...

I think that as two people already had a problem with the G10 grounding cable. I don't know how to find it unfortunately. I bought the car with a new windshield, and apparently this cable is disconnected when it's replaced. It probably wasn't reconnected
