What type of wax/polish/car wash do you use? I've heard that Zaino Bros. is the way to go. I've also heard plenty of good things about Zymol.

I'll refute the claim on Zymol...it does no better than turtle wax does. Personally I like meguairs gold class products. If you do a lot of car shows inside with floresent lights then use some light piano wax...does a real nice job inside, not real appropreate for everyday use though.

Zaino is great but doesn't hold up very well in the NorthEast where there is a lot of acid rain and road salt.

I've had good luck with 3M Imperial Hand Glaze and Blitz One Grand wax.

Zaino has done me very well. Expensive as s***, but does the job. I recently have used some 3M stuff, cheaper but just as effective. (I'm not as far north) :)

Really? That's suprizing. I've actually heard that Zaino is one of the tougher products. Anyone else agree with this? I was considering buying this stuff but it's expensive as hell. No need to waste my money here.

I just use Turtle Wax Carnuba wax stuff. It's not expensive at all and as long as it's beading up the rain then it's doing its job. I don't go all out and use an orbiter or anything either so that might make a difference on some of the other wax's. I just Wax On, Wax off. And It looks nice and shiny.

I don't want to scare you away from Zaino - not at all. There are a lot of reviews/info that says Zaino is the best. I amy actually try it on my P5 (which I have not done yet).

However, I have seen quite a bit that said Zaino doesn't do well with acid rain and road salt, and that includes my personal experience. It probably depends a lot on where you live, the type of paint, the color of paint, etc etc etc. I have not tried Zaino on my P5, only on my last 2 Audis.

Personally I like meguairs gold class products.

And there pro stuff as well.

I use my lifetime supply of Turtle Wax Paste I won on the Newlewed Game show.

I don't think but a few people will get that one.

CLEANING

I use Eagle One products on my car and have had the greatest luck with them. i like them so much that i started bugging eagle one/valvoline for a sponsorship and now they supply me with free product and pay my way into car shows. they even sent me to hot import nights twice. i have also had really good luck with mcqiars and turtle wax.

so what exactly consists of a lifetime supply? Do you get like a bottle a month or something? Wait you said paste. Is that the original wax in that bowl thing?

Or are you just messing around and never actually were on that show.

I like the Meguire's 3 step, Gold Glass, Eagle One wax as you dry, and Turtles Wax's finish 2001. I've only used the Eagle One on my P5. The others did wonders for my Probe's bad paint.:D

Wax as you dry? I figured that was a gimick. Realisticly, wax and water don't mix, that's sort of the whole point of wax. I don't imagine those kinds of things work all that well.

It was just a joke to see who's old enough to remember, or young and bored enough to stay up and watch game show re-runs.

I'm not quite old enough to have been on the original show, but we sure as hell watched it every week.

Getting off topic, though. Back to the original purpose:

Meguires Gold liquid. Talk about "baby ass smooth". I also use Meguires Quick Detailer spray and wipe after every wash. It's a must for a black car.

Personally I preferences are Zymol, 3M, and Meguairs.

Zymol have lots of good products. But if the only zymol you see in stores is a blue paste wax, that is not the original and is nothing but turtle wax inside.

I have used Zymol HD Clease, great stuff to remove tar and sticky dirts, works pretty well. Don't even have to use a buffer to apply, just use bare hands to wipe it.
