Christmas Sucks...

So I was on a local highway heading out to my buddy's shop to hang out for a bit, wish them a merry christmas or whatever, then go drop off some presents to another buddy of mine. Well it starts with the sign that reads "High water in left lane near exit 43a stay clear". So this lady in a BMW is in the left lane as I'm in the right lane, and there is an FJ Cruiser in the middle lane. The BMW hits the lake in the left lane and hydroplanes into the FJ Cruiser, which then swerves and brakes hard. I'm now in the shoulder and the Cruiser keeps moving over with me, I hit him, and then went into the field next to the highway. I probably slid a total distance of 300-400 feet, but probably 60 feet away from the highway. I'll get pics up soon...

sorry to hear that.. yeah xmas kinda sucks too coz nowhere is open and i cant buy stuff i want

Yeah, I know, I was just in the wrong place at the wrong time, but it just sucks real bad. I just got my engine built, and now I can't drive it. I basically had my car down for 6 months, now this...Karma's a b**** and I don't know wtf I did...

at least there was just an open field there...it could have been a building, a tree or a drop off....glad you're alright

^ werd.

Glad your okay.....damage doesnt seem to be too bad, you should be up and on the road in a week or two. Keep us posted on how things pan out for ya....

that sucks man, sorry to hear. however the plus side is you can upgrade the hood/grille/etc if you want to, so it does have its positives......

Yeah, but I highly doubt that they're going to want to get a CF hood/grille for me, we'll see though. I'm glad I'm okay too, but it's just so ironic that right after I get the car back, I get into an accident.

A CF hood will be cheaper than an OEM hood + paint.
Just talk to the shop, there shouldn't be a problem.

Glad you made it out alright.

wow...... Im stunned @ how far you are from where you left the road. Thats a cruise right there.

out of curiousity, did you get pics of the other cars?

Sorry to hear about the damage, as long as the big FJ didnt cause subframe damage (hard to tell from the pic), youll be back up in no time.

hopefully this gets resolved soon.

Good luck!

I swear people are so damn stupid. I see s*** like that all the time around here when it says left lane closed 1 mile ahead, then 5000 feet ahead, and then 500 feet ahead and people still stay in the damn left lane untill the cones start cutting them off into the right lane, people either need some glasses or just get off the freakin road. I spent quite a bit of time weaving through traffic all morning and just as soon as I broke through and was up to about 90mph a damn state trooper was waiting there for me, but with all that traffic behind me and the exit I took around the corner he never woulda caught up or found me if he tried to.

People can see the signs fine, they just know someone will let over at the last second when they need to...that's my biggest pet peeve.

Sorry about your car MSpeed, stick it to the BMW bish!

Well there are some times when I see why they would do that, to get ahead of people, but I mean I saw someone ahead of me do it the other day with no one around them at all lol.

you can do anything to a car and the insurance company pay for it, if it is cheaper or same price as oem replacements.. Just get a quote with the Oem fixing. then get another quote with what you want on it. Most of the time they cut you a check for the oem repair. then you can do whatever you want..

Well thats how I got my MSP bumper cover, I ask the body shop to order that one instead of my DX bumper cover and I ended up paying a $32 difference, they wouldnt install it though because they didnt want to hack up my DX reinforcement, if at the time I woulda known there was a difference I could have ask them to order the MSP bumper reinforcement as well and they woulda done it for me, but it was too late.

if theres no one around me (IE middle of the night, maybe me and one other car way behind) Ill do that as well. Ill drive till the last possible second in the lane Im in, unless snow, ice, or rain is a factor. If there are people around, Im getting over ASAP because I know I might not get another chance.

I hate the people that know that lane is closing, get back in it to pass 5 cars and get back over.

Yeah, thats even worse....but still not as bad as...LEFT LANE UNDER WATER!!!! and the dumbasses dont even slow down or get over, people just dont know what even 6 inches of water at 55+ mph can do to a car.

B1GHAM:
I don't know how extensive the damage is either, hopefully either not too bad...or REALLY REALLY bad...I don't want in between damages lol I didn't get any pics of the other cars though, I was busy running down the highway to help some other people out. There were 10-12 other accidents within the first ten minutes of mine.

Matthew1785:
I'm not too sure if there is engine damage or not. What really ticks me off is that I had a forged motor put in and finished 5 days before the accident...so that sucks for sure!
