i was thinking of going to meineke and telling them to make me a straight pipe or just delete the mufflers and resonator.. what do you guys think of this?

i have straight pipes all the way back (cp-e turbo back no cats/mufflers)...noticed no power loss just gains and thats about the least backpressure you could have

what about just taking the mufflers and resonator off, and slapping on like a 2.5" or 3" piping( still running the stock cats) ? how would that sound?

why one? i heard if you lose enough back pressure car gets slower ? is that true?

I took one of the mufflers off just to get an idea of what it would sound like. Usually turbo cars don't need back pressure but this is the first turbo car were I noticed that opening up the exhaust = lost of power. It did sound pretty cool though.

I don't remember seeing any resonator (just the muffler cans) on the pipe, just catalytic converters.

your turbo creates plenty of back preasure to run the motor properly... thats why theres people on here running with stright back 3in with no mufflers or resonators...

when you run strait pipes with no muffler, you might loose a little boost, but what you make up for plus some in HP gains...

Have also thought about going this route for a temp solution.... any info is appreciated.

I believe you can buy "test pipes" for the MS6 from PG which eliminate the Cats, and well just go out and by a couple feet of Stainless pipe and weld in up in place of the muffler... if you do find you loose power somehow... you can replace em all...

and if you want the cheapest you can get... o it yourself like I did, at least that way you know it'll be done right

maybe...

wow now im just confused on what to do haha .
What about if i take of the resonator and run one single stock muffler? i should lose any boost/power? cuz thats the last thing i want...

idk about taking off one muffler... never known anyone to try that... but when I put my exhaust on the first time, before I sold it when I got laid off, I did loose half a pound to a pound of boost in the MSP but what I mae up for in HP gains made it worth it... the car just felt stronger...

yea i am about the same area on the boost loss but like you said the power is significantly noticeable...plus the boost can be fixed with a controller so that was never an issue for me
