center dash gauge pod

:
2008 Mazdaspeed3 Grand Touring - Black Mica
im definitely going to be getting a center-dash pod in the near future... im planning on mounting the boost-gauge somewhere on my steering column or maybe the A-pillar with a mount, not a replacement pillar...

so... what do you guys recommend i put into the other pod? i was thinking oil pressure for starters... any suggestions?

I'd personally skip the water temp option, since there's already one in the main dash display. (True, no numbers on the dash gauge, but it serves its purpose) But I like the AFR & EGT options. Or AFR & IAT if you are running increased boost, CAI, FMIC, etc. And Oil pressure/Oil temp combo gauge, if the price isn't a dealbreaker.

I have a brand new Prosport Oil Pressure gauge that I decided not to use. PM me if you're interested. I just want to get rid of it so it'll be steeply discounted. I can post it in the Marketplace section tonight.

sounds like you want gauges just to have gauges. which, imo, is a mistake.

if you NEED gauges, then get them... but you obviously dont NEED them

well right now the gauges arent entirely necessary, but id rather have the gauges to meter what i need before i go trigger happy and get all sorts of mods put in

i like i the idea of a/f, oil pressure/temp, and exhaust for now only cause i dont have a CAI or FMIC to monitor with an IAT gauge

its a nice thing to have anyway, just to monitor how my car is performing... so theyre not really unnecessary either.

ill get back to you about the oil pressure gauge youre selling unless you sold it by now, cause im still debating on whether to go all defi or all prosport

YouTube - Mazdaspeed 3 Maddad gauges (startup/shutdown sequence)

This is the place that I ordered from and would highly recommend. Deffinetly worth the small premium to bargin brands like prosport which look/feel cheap and have accuracy issues. A friend of mine had the Defi gauges and these have the same look/feel/accuracy for a much better price.

MadDad(TM) Clarity Ultra Series 60mm 3 Gauge Bundle from $341 :: Gauges/Pods :: Daddy's Sport Compact Performance
A long time in the making. MadDad(TM) Clarity Ultra Series gauges are like nothing you've seen before. From their larger than life 66mm faces(universal 60mm mounting) with the clean OEM look Clarity gauges are famous for, to the wireless remote that replaces unsightly control boxes these gauges represent the flagship in the MadDad(TM) Clarity line. The 3 gauge bundle offers a huge discount on the individual gauge prices and includes the $40 dollar wireless remote for FREE. MadDad(TM) Clarity Ultra gauges can claim bragging rights in your car with the following features:

* 66mm gauge faces are larger than the competitions filling out a 3 gauge 60mm(they fit into a 60mm pod) pod very nicely. The large face combined with the logo free design Clarity gauges are famous for means easy at a glance reading like no others.
* Power on needle sweep very similiar to a Subaru Impreza WRX/STi with only the needle lit up on the initial single startup sweep.
* The latest generation of LED backlighting. Visibility is not washed away on sunny days unlike most "smoked" lens blackout gauges.
* Amber/Red backlight matching a Subaru Impreza WRX/STi and many other cars such as Mitsubishi EVO.
* User adjustable warning lamp. (lamp lights and needle flashes)
* Audible warning - can be turned on/off.
* External Warnign Lamp Port - each gauge will interface with large external warning lamp(shift light type) available separately
* External Device Control Port - allows adding functions to the gauge, using the gauge face as a device control panel:
* Turbo Timer - intefaces with Boost gauge Control Port. Adds turbo timer function. Set run time using gauge face/needle. Require use of wireless remote(including in all 3 gauge bundles).
* Aux. Radiator Fan Contorl - interfaces with water temp gauge and activates on water temp warning setting.
* Intercooler Water Spray Control - TBA
* 50 second datalog record/playback(playback on gauge face)
* Pressure gauges include calibration set function to "0" the psi level for given elevations ensuring the best accuracy.
* Peak value record and recall
* Aluminum housing to dissipate heat.
* The higheset quality sending unit available. All sending units accurate to within 1% max
* Best off all - NO CONTROL BOXES to clutter your dash and NO BUTTONS on the gauge face cluttering the clean look. All functions are controlled by a multi-function wireless remote included in all 3 gauge bundles.

YOU MUST SELECT 3 GAUGES FROM THE DROP DOWN LISTS WHEN ORDERING. FAILURE TO SELECT 3 GAUGES WILL RESULT IN YOUR ORDER NOT BEING CHARGED OR SHIPPED.

Oil pressure and temperature for sure. Not sure the priority of the others.

love the way those gauges look, however im not a fan of your center pod... 60mm fitment might be too large for the one im looking to get, ill keep it in mind though

Gents / Ladies,

I am a supplier working with the people at Custom Performance and Engineering or www.cpe-e.com to build a plastic injection mold that will receive the "DashHawk controller" box as we speak. This will likely mount to the left side of the steering wheel using the small vent in the dash as the mountiing location. This holder will allow the DashHawk box to be "snapped" in or out of our holder at your will with a little effort.

We are also making a single gauge pod holder that will recieve any 52mm gauge you would like. This will be mounted in the same location as the DashHawk option so you have two different options on the left side of the steering wheel. A gauge or a DashHawh holder.... your choice. I estimate the delivery time to market will be approx. July 2009 timeframe. CAD design is now underway and the mold will take about 6 weeks to build. Fit and function testing will follow that to verify a quality part is availiable to you all. Stay tuned to www.cp-e.com for details.

If you haven't heard yet, there is a 3 pod centre dash panel already on the market that is as close to a factory OEM part for sale at www.cp-e.com. This panel replaces you existing panel and accepts (3) 52mm gauges of your choice. It matches the texture finishes and colors of your original part to make it the best panel for your Mazda 3 on the market.

Check it out...
