Hey everyone, I think this might just be one of those idiot lights to tell me I'm getting more air but...
I did the Mazdaspeed3 CAI install today, but for reasons of my own, I only did about half of it. I noticed another member on here had just the short pipe with the filter from the Mazdaspeed kit, so I didn't think it would be much of an issue to just do that for now, and take care of the full kit on Friday or Saturday when I had some decent time. Upon startup, I got a check engine light. A quick shake down, and the car had no driving issues (stuttering, popping, running like ass, etc.), but it did seem to just hit a brick wall at 5k rpm in second (didn't seem to have the same such issue in third or forth).
I'm just wondering if anyone would have any idea if I should not drive it until I install the rest of the kit (the long pipe), if there is a way to reset the ecu (like disconnect the battery), or if my general hope is right, and its just an idiot light telling me "hey, I'm getting more air than I'm used to!"
Also, at the risk of being laughed off this site as a total uber n00b...
How does one disconnect the battery? To I just unscrew the two bolts on the top or what?
Thanks for any help!
