catback exhaust

would any of u know if there is a difference between a catback edhaust size between a regular protege and a protege 5? because only magnaflow makes a catback exhaust for my car, but i know a lot more companies make exhausts for the protege 5. i think that the skunk 2 exhaust i want will fit, but its for a protege 5, so if anyone could help that would be awesome.

it's not diameter that's different between the sedan and Protege 5- it's the length. I don't remember which one is longer, but that's where the difference is. Either one will work on the opposite application- it's just that the tail pipe might be sticking out too far or not far enough.

And what year Protege do you have? There is more than just the Magnaflow and Skunk2 exhausts available for sedan Proteges.

how about swaping exhausts across the sedans....like N/A protege or a MP3 cat back exhaust onto a MSP and vice versa
would that work:confused:

To the best of my experience, the piping diameter is the same (depending on your engine size) bot the length on the axleback is shorter on the p5 by about 6 inches. I had a mazdaspeed axleback exhaust and the tip came to about 4-6 inches behind the bumper. To the best of my knowledge the piping length from the cat to the axleback hook-in is exactly the same as the sedan versions. The p5's rear bumper is just shorter due to the hatch, where the sedans trunk is longer.

Except for the sedan/P5 difference, the cat-back exhausts are all the same.
