Carbon Fiber SRI/CAI anyone?

What if you want one with no nipple for the bpv. Would that be a possiblity?

Yep, just put it in the "optional information" when you make the paypal payment (or pm me, either way :)).

The "nippleless" version will look nicer than the nippled ones since the nipple throws off the alignment of the weave a little bit.

what is the nipple for again? ...the bpv right? ...can you run it w/o a bpv? (please tolerate the noob question, i have no idea how these things work...trying to install one of these will be a b**** for me haha.)

crap, should have gotten it without the nipple, oh well no harm

the BPV (bypass valve/recirculating valve) sits between the intake and the hot pipe (turbo to intercooler) with a hose on either side connecting it to the pipe. if you are stock (i.e. no aftermarket blow-off valve) you need this nipple. i have a aftermarket blowoff valve so the nipple is virtually useless unless you need to revert back to stock. its late, lemme know if i missed something

That's awesome how much is the SRI again? I didn't feel like searching thru all these pages....

guess what came in the mail today!!

kudos sir.

everything was there, clamps, couplers and the bpv hose plus step by step directions.

gonna go install it rgiht now, unfortunatelly i dont have a digital camera but if someone in the Austin area does I would like to get some pics. to post.

The SRIs are 150 or 160 depending on color, but that price will only last another week, then the price will go up to 180 ish.

On a side note, I just got one of the generic filters in stock to include with the CAI's- man, these things are tight! In my opinion, they look way cooler than K&N filters!

I'm thinking I might have to make them an option, and it would allow for a lower price once the prices go up. I apologize for having to raise the prices, but I'm really not making much money on these anyway.

Also, it could take a few extra days if you place the order around now- final exams are coming up shortly, and I'll be a busy boy!

Well I didn't get any instructions, but with some VERY common sense the SRI dropped in. There is a nice reduction in the turbo spool-up time, down to under 3,000 RPMs. Not quite sure exaclty. Awesome sound! Just an amazing sound, i'll get out there with my digital camera soon and get some pics for you guys, even though there isn't much to see ;-)

i agree, it spools quicker and sounds nice. here are some crappy pics
(the filter was my own)

i'm not reading through 14 pages but i'm wondering if you would consider making an IC-TB pipe and/or a Turbo-IC pipe out of the same materials

NJMSP- so you are the one! I finished shipping everything out and noticed I had an extra set of instructions on my desk- sorry! I can email you the word doc if you like!

In response to the ic-tb pipe- I was waiting to do testing on a complete hardpipes kit, but if I could find a company or even DSMConvert willing to let me make a copy of already bent metal pipes (obviously for some compensation), I could make those in seriously 3-5 days! Its the mold making process that takes so long.

I definitely still need to do some testing on the turbo-ic pipe, though, because I need to make sure that the cf/epoxy can handle the heat of the air charge coupled with the header being so close.

Riles if your CF can hold the heat, I'm #1 in line for this product. It would also be interesting to consider putting a flange in for an aftermarket BOV too, but just my $0.02.

Here is a pic of the other filter

Yeah, it comes in blue, red, and yellow.

Hey, if anybody wants an SRI but is short on funds but wants to trade some parts plus cash (on my part or yours, depending on the part)- I'd be down. I like exhaust pieces, appearance stuff, anything electronic, etc. PM me with offers for stuff to keep this post somewhat on topic.

Hey riles, definatly email me the word document. I mean I have it installed and everything, but I guess I could've missed something really important. I must say when I first took it our for a spin, the car ran like like s***! I was scared that the ECU wasn't going to correct enough for the new SRI. But low and behold the next morning the car runs better than it used to! Thanks again Riles, can't wait to get your hardpipes...
