Haha, I like the way you think, yesiownaskyline. You are the only one with a real reason (aside from loving mspro forums) for being up so late! But, if you were to buy an intake, I might have to charge you extra for shipping (wink) !

the MSP isnt here so it would be sent to my house in mass... I wont be able to put it on for a while, but at least i have it. Saves me the headaches of having to buy everything at once, so why i like to spread out my purchases.

Riles, we are meeting tonight at Great Lakes Dragaway... Could be a good chance for you to do a 1/4 mile test so people can compare it to stock.

My original reply- "When are you planning on meeting there? I love drag racing"

I just noticed that you said "tonight". Oops. Where is that track located?

Maybe I can duck out of work and head there instead!

Fun Racing RACE for *FREE 6pm -10pm

18411 1st street
Union Grove, WI 53182

It's right off of rt 45 and a couple miles west of I-94 in southern Wisconsin. You should definitely come out! Plus I can take some pictures of the sri for you if you'd like!

WI is a bit out of my range for a day trip. Anyway, I have a question for everybody- I am packaging the SRI's with K&N filters, and I didn't realize that the filters with the chrome tops cost more than the ones with the rubber tops (I know, its common sense, but I got the stock numbers mized up).

Anyway, do you think I should include the black rubber topped filters with the kit, or should I raise the price by the 10 dollar price difference and include the chrome filters? I'm running such a low profit margin on these during the pre-sale because I love msprotege.com members so much, but it makes this $10 matter more than you'd think!

http://www.knfilterchargers.com/search/product.aspx?Prod=RU-3570 <-Thats the rubber
http://www.knfilterchargers.com/search/product.aspx?Prod=RC-4570 <-Chrome

This doesn't affect those who already purchased their kits- they are getting the chrome top like I pictured on the ordering page. My mistake is your gain!

Now realize I have a p5 so it's not as though I'll be purchasing any of these from you until you start up the p5/sedan line (hint hint hint hint hint hint hint hint hint)

But if I were to make a choice, given it's an SRI and lots of people will wanna see the CF look (especially if it's in a colored Kevlar weave), I'd go for the chrome. The filter's angles look much more aggressive.

The rubber would be better suited to the CAI since no one really sees that filter.

There's my .02!

Everyone has to sometimes. Remember though the closer to cost/lower profit margin you keep, the better chance of you running in the red from lost shipping/stolen/broken/whatever stuff.

True, true. But, I think for this first sale/group buy, I'll leave it the same and accept the low margin. I think my credibility is more important for this first product, since I plan on making more products soon for the msp and the p5/sedan. Sooo, I'll chalk it up as a learning experience and hope that members see my commitment to the msprotege.com family!

I think they already have. How many other people can say they've been able to post the progress of developing something for the forums constantly? I've seen tons of people start up threads about doing something/selling it and the thread drops off the face of the earth. Every few days you post updates about stuff. You keep very professional. I think those help your crediblity already.

Yea I agree w/the sale/profit margin stuff! Makes me wish I had an MSP lol

Just outta curiosity, when do you think you'll start developing stuff for the p5/sedan?

I imagine as soon as finals are over and I get back from my 3 week summer vacation, which would be the beginning of June. I would like to have the first one done right around the end of june/beginning or july.

My biggest thing will be finding a sedan/P5 in the South Bend, IN area I think. This may sound silly, but do the 4 door and the 5 door protege's share the same engine bay design? If so, then it probably won't be difficult.

Riles you carbon crazy b*tch.

I just ordered one, heh heh heh.

Except i was stupid and forgot to add $10 for chrome.

I want chrome though, so i can paypal u $10 if you need me to whenever...

That yellow is gonna look slick... (bj)
