Carbon Fiber SRI/CAI anyone?

I got the materials in today to make the new, shorter SRI. I'll have pics up tomorrow, and then the much awaited "officially on sale date" will now definitely be Friday, April 8.

Since it is still a new product and there hasn't been months of testing, I will offer a 2 month "money back" offer- if you aren't satisfied for any reason, you get your money back.

In response to that concern- I'm going to be adding extra layers of fabric around the edges (about 1" long) to provide strength against being crushed by hose clamps.

The testers seem to be doing well. I will have the redesinged SRI made by Wednesday of next week, keep an eye out for pics!

Maybe get some metal pipe the same size you are using for the mold and cut off 1" pieces of it and you could epoxy (or whatever) that piece just inside the ends of the CF intake where something will be clamping onto it.

Im not too worried about the strength of the CF but this sounds to me anyways like it would be easy and cheap and would certainly get the job done since you were going to address the issue anyways.

At any rate tell me where and when to send money, I want an SRI STAT!!!!!!!

and i would like to pay a little more to get a better filter if thats something being considered

Anyone want to see the CF CAI in person, let me know.
I am the tester in North Hills CA.
It works great now!!!!

Right now, I was going to offer the filters at cost to everybody, so you can knock off $10 for the filter if you don't want it. I am exploring other options- I've contacted a K&N distributor and I might be able to set up something that might add $20 to the price for a genuine K&N, or add $10 for a K&N knock off (same materials and color and everything, just doesn't say K&N)

I'm working on getting a website set up for Friday so that ordering can begin. Also, instead of doing a GB, I'll just call it a sale for the month of April, then at the end of the month, the price will go up to it's normal price.

Here is what I am looking at as far as pricing:
SRI: $150 ($140 sans filter)
CAI: $175 ($165 w/o filter)

Add $10 For Colors (this will increase to $15 or $20 after the sale ends- it has to do with the way that I carry inventory)

Then both prices will increase somewhere around $20 or $25 at the end of the month.

So, there will be choices for three things- Cai or Sri, Colors or Black (including colored connectors), and Filter options.

Anything I didn't think of that everybody wants?

Sweet, man. I'm sure there will be plenty of interest. Are you going to be offering a polished version or only CF? I would be interested in just the piping; already have hoses and hardware.

I can also do just the piping- I already had somebody else ask me that, too. Email me or PM me for that one- I consider those ones special orders. But, I can't do polished/metal pipes- the only metal pipes I have are the molds, and those took me friggen forever to make! (And they are only glued together- wouldn't work as an intake)

Update: I listed the prices a couple of posts back.

Last coat is drying right now. It should be good to touch in a few hours. I'm on college time, meaning the pics might not be up until late!

Thanks for the interest!

Well, its not dry enough to install yet and its bedtime, so I guess we'll just have to wait till tomorrow! But, basically, it is similar to the Perrin- the top of the filter will be visible and pretty much in line with the top of the engine.

All I can say is "wow". This shorter SRI is DEFINITELY faster than the either the CAI or the longer SRI. It also has better fitment and everything than the original SRI. It's also shorter, requiring fewer materials, so I can put a better filter with the kit. I am so pumped right now- I had no idea it would make such a difference!

So now it looks as though the SRI will come with a nice filter(working on this today), and the CAI will come with a standard filter (nobody can see it when it's installed, anyway). The payment website will have the final info on it tomorrow.

Man, this is fassssssssst!
