carbon fiber kit

So are they just overlays then (excluding the front lip)? They're nice accents.

looks like it... but it totally has the look that the Rx7's in japan that are doing the whole bottom 1/2 of the front bumper in a c/f cover.. me likey.

yeah.. matthew pm'd me and said only if we have a kit to build the mold off of- like dexter said basically- - - which i believe is impossible because this kit was never actually produced.. it was a prototype. dammit! oh well... (pissed)

Lets go to japan and find this prototype. We will borrow it, get a mold, then give it back.(drunk) (yupnope)

But the kit does look really really nice.

that lame. Why cant they make something original?(dunno)

I was wondering why all of their stuff was copied, but I never knew they actually never set out to do anything original...Id have to hear it come right from DG to believe it though.

thats a great idea.. if only we had a volunteer that can scour the streets of Japan and locate this Unicorn of a body kit... any takers?
(stooges)

well how about from me? this is the reason: to make something brand new it requires EXTENSIVE r&d, especially since DGM garuntees fitament or your money back. they need to come up with the design, make a mold, fit it, improve it, fix mold, fit it, etc etc. this costs SERIOUS time and money.

these kind of things would be very promising, IF - the protege board did what the **** they said.

on MANY MANY MANY occasions i have tried to get new products started by DGM for people on this board. lets say 30 people say they are willing to pay - when it comes time to pay beforehand (to front DGM the r&d money) maybe one person will pay. this has been seen over and over again. one example, not to do with DGM, but sort of is my "you choose DGMs next product thread". in that thread one of the most popular selections (with like 50+ votes i think) is a CF trunk for the sedan. craig (boostisgood) found someone to make the trunk, and guess how many people he got to sign up? ZERO.

another example was DGM borrowed protege5gurly's autoexe wing for the protege5. 10 people were supposed to commit 50 dollar deposit to being production. we could not get more than 2 people to commit despite the fact that well over 10 said they would. DGM ended up having to pay to ship the wing back.

another example is this gas tank door cover. well over 50 people i believe said they would buy it, and ive sold about 10.

so there is your answer. we can thank the unreliable assholes (not everyone, if the shoe fits wear it) that lie and "window shop" for the unwillingness of DGM to produce brand new products. the molded products are risky enough as it is, as shown in the past.

well, how do they do overall with their protege products?

maybe what they should do is take something and just make it...then tell everyone aobut it when its stocked and ready to go...
OR maybe just make some more copies of things like...the mintblue kit, poster kit...maybe take the 99-00 Sport20 front and modify around the headlights...

I dunno, something different. Im just fearing the day when Im ready to buy a kit or sumthin and i have to either get the autoEXE replica lip like 95% of other proteges with kits, or fork over $2K for a real JDM kit(shrug)

good answer though Matthew...answered my question completely :D

do you mean, how well do they do in sales?

tried that too protege...doesnt work too well either. (just making something)

yeah...not actual numbers...but do they make decent profit?

I know some companies for other makes have barely gotten by with a profit on one make while another one flourished prompting them to drop the dead weight.

I know DG makes stuff for more than just proteges...

im not sure how much profit they make but they make a s*** load of business, partly cause of me :)...but anyhow...yea they do get a lot of business. once the initial investment is paid for, there is a pretty good profit i think. just speculation though. i just ask amie for prices when i can and pass them along, i never see the bottom line.
