Carbon fiber ideas for DG

i added myself to the list, but that GI should be mroe towards the roof cap man, cause whats what he would make first. so you should change it for right now untill we can find someone to make other peices, cause i would love a rear carbon fiber lip for the protege's Lol

thanks. but, i cannot start a group buy for the roof caps ..
because he is not a vendor of the forum as of now or yet. so i want to prove to Bryan aka "i sport" that there is a market and demand for more cf pieces for our cars. so just hang on tight , as soon as the list goes on im sure he would decide to sign up for a vendor status. i know the first piece to go on a groupbuy would be the roof caps it seems everyone would need or want one on their cars.

Another update: I got a hold of somebody else at DG and he had me e-mail him the links to this thread and the one in the Protege appearance section. He also had me give him a list of all the suggestions. I sent that out to him about half an hour ago.

I'm doing everything I can to get the ball rolling on some of this stuff.

k.soze, sorry if i seemed to have jack your thread ,but i just wanted to help us out more on the protege community to have more cf parts made, that i think that should be made and be sold out on the market. i have lots of ideas on this, and i just happened to stumble upon isport which is closer to me and such. but i didnt mean to at all. and please accept my apologies .

sorry again

No, no. Haha, don't be sorry at all. I appreciate what you're doing. I didn't even think you were threadjacking. All in the name of getting more carbon fiber products, that's all I care. :)

The roof cap idea has been discussed with Joe at xcelerated concepts over at the TO club before and it isn't a very good idea. There are large chances for the cap to fly off at high speeds. The only way to hold it down is to build it such that the sides sit under the roof rail inserts but than it would have to be made real thin which is another problem. Even though if it is done this way there is still the challenge of tucking it very well in the front so that air does not get under and if you look clearly there isn't any room for this.

The best way is the overlays which both xcelerated concepts and Bluebatmobile have already or buying a CF sheet with 3M and cutting it yourself.

I'm just putting this info out there in advance because you will be getting to these hurdles sooner or later.

SOmebody has to make these already for the P5.

Umm how about instead of those we get a full rear lip? I've always thought we need a rear lip. Anyone else?

i dont know. but making a rear lip would only lower the rear bumper even more. i love how it is now. just need the side strakes as suby guys call them. ..... but a rear bumper would be more of what your talking about. p5 actually already have a rear lip infuse inthem from factory. thats why some or most of the other guys get the rear lip for the protege n msp .. which we have already molded onto our cars.

i'd love to get a set of cf doors, fenders, front fascia, as well as a roof cap. in the jan 07 issue of modified mag, there is a SICK orange srt-4 with carbon hood, eyelids, fenders, roof cap, lip and trunk. ever since i saw this car i've been dying to have one that looked similar, except I think my msp's orange is better. i'd love to put my name on the GI list for a roof cap, but I have no money to donate at the time.
here's his cardomain. you might want a box of tissues handy before you check it out.

yeah sorry, after re-reading the article that's what it is. but even then, at lots of angles, carbon fiber already looks black, so thats why i was mistaken.

I think it looks like poop to tell you the truth.

If someone replaced every single piece with CF therefore making a CF body, I think it would be pretty cool....

I Mainly want fenders :(
Wheres all the CF molders at!! someone go find one!!

There is a place Near KOP (30 mins near me) that does custom CF work... i might have to ask them, but they cost alot of $$, they usually do BMW and stuff.

DING DING DING!! Who want to get this one started for me... Seibon, which is a Carbon Fiber comapny that i think everyone here has herd of....

This is in their FAQ page

Q. Do you make custom parts for my car?
A. We are able to make most parts in carbon fiber. We are interested in custom jobs in the form of special orders with a minimum quantity of 20 items. If you would like to obtain more information, you can email to info@seiboncarbon.com.

The Fenders we might be able to get 20 people, we would most likly have to use a fender without the Turning lamp so anyone can get it :( but the fenders are doable, but the Doors... i dont think everyone wants Carbon Fiber doors cause of the price LOL
