HELP HELP HELP HELP!
I have you to receive the answers i am looking for for the problem i am having. When i am driving my MSP, and i push the clutch in and hold it in, the RPMs drop like every car. But when I push in my clutch and the rpms drop quickly maybe from at least 3000 RPMs and the RPMs drop and the car dies and shuts off. I have no idea what this is. and its really frustrating me. I think it might be a vac leak but i couldnt find any or i was looking wrong. I need to fix this problem. What should i do

Hey man, I had exactly the same problem. For me, it ended up being a couple of things. First, it was a vac leak. Check the ones back behind the manifold; they're kind of a b**** to get to, but that's where mine was. Second, the couplers on my intercooler had gotten loose, so I was loosing pressure through there. Hope it helps

Yeah i kinda figured it would be a vac leak. but whats the best way to find where its leaking i mean you know how tight everything is in there.

def a vac leak, i had the same problem and i had a leak where the air intake met with the turbo inlet. check there

Just start by replacing all of your vac lines running near the mani one at a time to not get them mixed up. Beyond that try spraying some carb cleaner around suspected areas and if the idle raises you found the leak.

carb cleaner will be your best friend with almost anything.....it's better than duct tape

It's not so great with small leaks but beyond that is a diy boost leak tester.

Also you may just need to read up on "relocated maf" (search)

The EGR might cause a Dip in RPM's but if that is what causing it to die, probally not. A vac leak is more than likley causing your car to die, but like I said the EGR could cause a dip in RPM's.

is you blowoff valve after your maf because that will cause your car to drop rpms and shut down?

drive the front of your car into a pond, or pool with the hood up and look for bubbles

SAME EXACT problem, ended up being a bad wastegate. Do the wastegate test. If you can blow into the line that goes to the wastegate its more than likely bad, you shouldnt be able to push air thru that line with your mouth.

You mean suck on the wga but blowing will do the same thing but most people suck on them, I personally think its easier to tell if you suck on the line.

yeah....i personally think it's easier to tell someone to suck on it too(dance)

what do you mean blow into the line that goes to the waste gate?

no you dont blow you suck on the vac line that goes to the wastegate actuator. if you look there is a black hose coming off the Wastegate actuator and if you suck on it and place your tounge on the line after you sucked on it and it holds suction then the WGA is good if the negative pressure leaks off the WGA is bad.
