I've looked in the center console and it is not there. Any other hints about where I can find it so I can charge my phone on long trips. The USB port didn't do much for my iPhone. Thanks in advance

it's hidden in the center armrest lift up the armrest and look inside should be towards the front inside the armrest cubby,

careful, it's not switched, meaning anything connected will still draw power from the battery even if the car is off.....

so leaving anything connected may result in a dead battery by morning.

I picked up my 2016.5 yesterday. My phone was charging slow. Are the USBs 1.0?
Yep, the USB ports in 2016.5 CX-5 are ver. 1.0, hence charging is slow. 2017 CX-5 has USB ver. 1.0 at front too!

I have an Aukey CC-T6 36W (2-port quick charge) plugged in the armrest all the time with no problem. It's also nice that the armrest wall has a notch to run the USB cable to the front. I also have a long USB cable running to the back seat for my daughter.

No; they are USB 2.0. And likely will be until the next infotainment overhaul.

1.0 is long long gone.

Yep, you're absolutely correct! I was thinking charging amperage on USB 1.0A and USB 2.1A, shouldn't be USB version 1.0! ;)
