Can't figure this one out!

Ordered the WGA lastnight, should be here next Wednesday. Hope this fixes the issue and removes the P0171 code . How difficult is it to swop the WGA out ?

The cotter pin is the hardest part. I would suggest lifting the car up a foot or so, taking off the splash guard off from underneath the turbo so you can get to it from either side. Also, remove the hot pipe. If you still have the plastic hot pipe, use a hair dryer or heat gun to soften it up if it doesn't want to come off.

Comparatively though, this is a pretty easy job.

I thought it was a pain to change it myself. But I did it. Since I changed it the CEL has not come on. Car still runs rough though. Not sure what is wrong with it.

So this is something I can do in my driveway then ? Is it tough to get to pin though ? I've never done this before so I just want to make sure I can do it and do it smarter way so its done right, you know . How long would you way overall it would take ?

I did it in my garage. I had to jack the car up. It's not a cotter pin. It's a little clip you have to get on and off. That was the real pain. Just figuring out what I had to remove to get the WGA took some time. I had to take 1 of my wrenches and bend the hell out of it to get the 2 nuts off the WGA. It's odd that thoses 2 nuts are not metric. It took me about 3 hours. I imagine others on here have a better way of doing it and can do it quicker.

Make sure you let everything cool off for at least 2 or 3 hours before you try it otherwise you will not be putting your hands in there.

Hhhmm yeah it sounds like it shouldn't take long, but then again its kinda awkword at the same time ... Once it comes in ill have to really look at it and hope its something that want be so difficult . And yeah I'm gunna let it sit all night and do it the next morning do its 100% cooled off lol

I was looking at the WGA today and doesn't look to hard to replace, I looks like its just the 2 bolts and the pin that's holding it in there ... Is it a lot harder than it looks ?

Yes those nuts are a b**** coming out too, I had to use a tool to get them off the whole bolt. (on the wga)

So the hardest part would be getting those 2 bolts off ? And the rest shouldn't be to bad? How is it with the pin at the end it needs to conect too ..?

Oh i see, so either way those 2 nuts are going to be tough to get off, would you say that's the most difficult part of replaceing the WGA ? And the pin just will hook on ? Just want to cover all bases to when I go to do this I know what to expect and be able to get it done as well ...

Its not hard if you take everything off. But the c-clip will murder you if you leave everything on.

Taking everything off as in what ? Sorry for all the questions, but thanks for a lot for the help.

And what C-clip ?

it looks kinda like this. it hole the arm for the wga on

Would that come with the new one or would you use the one thats already there ? What would I need to move out of the way to be able to access it ?
