Can't boost over 5-6psi PLEASE HELP

agreed. Soldering is necessary. What if you are driving and one of those bitches pops off and you are boosting 8-9 psi at that point? Can you say bye bye engine.

Just take the extra time now and do it right.

dude... yes, get butt-splices... maybe sometime soon I can solder for you, but for now please get some splices.

u can pick up a cheap sodering iron for like $20 with soder at a homedepot.. or if ur outah cash. i can mail mine to you.. but it wont get there for a few days. -=\

Radio Shack sells a soldering kit for about 10$ comes with a pen solder gun and solder and some little tools.

Does your car still go lean if you go above 4k and then go into boost? this should rule out if it is the Voltage clamp.

The 75$ isnt neccesary... people will help you out for free. No one wants your money for helping out. That is what the forum is for.

exactly..

i guess there still are some good people on here.

i do :p

right on the fuel rail. if you need any pressure numbers, let me know

although im N/A...

well it still doesnt work...though at 6psi i can boost full throttle over around 4500 rpms i think...no red, all green.

this s*** is pissing me off. ive hit lean so many times testing this car my engine is prolly already shot.

ive tested and retested all the wires to the voltage clamp...i yanked and pulled and twisted and they are secured firmly inside the butt connectors...ive turned the car on and listened for vacuum leaks anywhere i can but i cant find anything at all.

all the vacuum lines are on their own line except for one, and the fmu is on the brake booster line.

im about this <--> close to selling everything on this car and turning it back to stock, and then trading in the car on something else that works.

if it is the voltage clamp, what can i do to get rid of the ******* thing and put something in its place? its obviously a bad item since it went bad on jamies car, and he bought a new one and now it still doesnt work. all the wires were hooked up correctly, i have checked about 300 times, and if you look at the directions and my pictures you can see that is the case...so its not like i hooked it up to the wrong wires or anything.

man i really wish i could help you out man.. maybe you could round up a bunch of local guys to help you just take everything out and redoing it...

i would take off everything that wasnt essential for the turbo kit and then test it and see what happens and if that doesn't work, then you'll know its not all of your wiring and other s***.. but hey, what kind of gauge is it? if you say autometer, i know someone that has one of those and the damn thing just jumps back and forth all the time not helping anything. it will go totally lean going down the interstate and then totally rich and then it will lean out when he turns in a parking lot or lean out when he slows down.. itll even lean out in gear shifts and low rpms. i dont know what the **** its trying to do but it doesnt really help, he got the gauge when he got the new engine and that was over a year ago.

The voltage clamp has work for MANY more people then it has failed on.
So you can get rich over 4500 rpm, but not under it? What are you measuring that with? If its a Cheap EGT or something, you might just be suffering from a lack of speed on its part. You should be able to hear the clamp click on and off. Also are you positive you don't have the first wiring diagram that was wrong?

i downloaded the instructions off their website. im using a halmeter AF guage, which i know narrowband guages suck, but it works fine if im boosting 3psi or 4psi, and works fine until i floor it when it immediately goes lean if im above 5psi at all.

Just a quick question....is the o2 sensor wire shielding supposed to be grounded to something??

like the directions said. to answer your pm i do not have a FPR. now i got back and i can hear the clamp clicking, but i cant even get it to stay rich in the way i described before. lean lean and motherfucking lean.

on the brake booster line i cut the line and that stupid little valve thing was RIGHT there so i had to relocate it, i didnt have a choice the line was already cut. so i bought new vacuum line and put the bullet looking valve thing near the nipple in the firewall...i could not figure out how to put it anywhere else...so the brake booster line is tapped AFTER that little bullet thing....well i dont know what you mean by after but the bullet thing is right by the right side where the firewall is, and the connection is 6-7inches to the left along the hose. it must work though because my BOV is/was loud as hell when tapped to that line...now the BOV is tapped to something else, but its still just as loud as it was on the brake booster line.
