Hi guys, I realize this might vary by dealership, but I'm curious about other people's experiences in this regard. I was trying to secure a "deal" on a Protege5 that went beyond the publicly advertised low finance rates (ie a discount on MSRP). There was no indication that the dealer had any interest in playing ball in that regard, even though they want to clear out the P5's AND Im a clearly serious buyer who has been to the dealership a few times in the past few days and have money to spend.
I always thought that, other than Saturns and the new Access Toyota pricing, car buying was a negotiation process. Maybe I just suck at it. I kept hinting I might put the cash on the table if they came out with a decent offer, but no bites.
Thoughts or experiences?
