can you ground to the negative on the battery?

Ok so I hooked up my greddy fatt but I wanted to make sure it was ok to ground it with the negative on the battery. I searched and found nothing. I am not great with electronics and what not so let me know if this is ok or not. Thanks for any input.

Yes you can, but I always bolt it to metal or just tap into a local harnesses ground.
