I'm debating on getting either the Rota Grid, Subzero, or P45F in 17x7.5 for my MS3.

Does anyone know the weights?

And in terms of style which would you get?

not to start an arguement but i remember reading in like car and driver or some other magazine that lighter wheels dont make that great of difference so in all honesty dont go for the weight just get what you like and if they are 25lbs so what you not slower!

Don't go too cheap on lightweight rims. You get what you pay for.

idk who from car and driver said that but they should be fired. rotating weight is the best weight to reduce on a car.

Stupidest thing I've heard in a long time. OMG you're joking right?

EDIT: I've read many many articals on wheel weight and unsprung weight in general and how it affects performance but I've been hearing this arguement more and more lately

You might be kind of right. Here's an interesting article that I forgot I had book marked from some time ago (note it's dated 2002)

im not making it up im just saying ive read about it(wiggle)personally i dont really give a ****! something about tires and how all the weight contributes through them or something was part of it, cant really remember! but they did tests with different weights and lighter ones had no advantage over heavier other then they'll get owned by bad roads!

what! rotational weight. think about it for a second. like on a bicycle. why do you want lighter wheels? less rotation weight, spins faster. easier to pull up. quicker speeds. faster acceleration. (pending on what kind of bike it is.) the less weight the car (or bicycle) has to push the easier it is for it to slow down then pick back up speed. you'd be surprised at how much lighter wheels make a difference. im rocking knock off rota torques. right at 18lbs a wheel. look good an hell of a lot lighter than stock. i immediately felt the difference in handling and acceleration. and as a major DD i wont buy some rays. or advans and why? cause id s*** a brick if i got a nick scratch or curb on them. sure, they are sick and nice to say well, i have some volks. but **** me if they were to get ****** from driving on them so much.

I have the subzero's and I believe they are 18lbs. I put them on a long time ago so I can't exactly remember the weight.

im just quoting what was said in an article. personally i could give two s**** about this but i was just throwin it in! if i find the article ill post a link so all you nay sayers can have a gander!

cant find the article im talking about so i give up! but maybe itll show up someday.

i know there are alot of physics involved in breaking it down which i dont know but say you have a 16lb wheel compared to 20lb its not gonna change the time on your time slip but youll see a difference in handling and even corning! but then now if you go a smaller wheel from 18 to 17 youll most likely do bigger tires which will feel in the weight difference and itll almost be the same of what it was! dont know if it makes sense but there is always pros and cons and two sides of it sooo ya!

I've run several sets of Rota's on a few cars I've owned and they hold up great. For the $$$ they're a good buy. Personally unless your racing or have a show car I can't see spending a ton on a set of wheels for a DD...
