Can heated seats be installed on the Touring model ?

I am considering buying the Mazda 6 Touring. Is anyone aware if the car can be retrofited with heated front seats. That's the only option missing on the Touring that I would like to have that is included on the GT. One member on this site mentioned that his dealer could install heated seats at a reasonable price but I'm not sure if most dealers could/would install them. Any of you guys have information on this ?

Aftermarket heated seats can definitely be done on the I-touring. The entire upholstery must be removed for this job. Dealers are probably varied in terms of pricing and type of install. As far as my experience, I was going to have them installed with my new purchase for $695 on both front seats. the regular price was $895. The reason I did not go with it was because there would be no stock look while using the oem heater controls. There would be some sort of button probably on the seat itself. I did not deem it necessary if it was not going to have the identical stock set-up (with the dash controls on the GT).

Thanks for replying DJ. I agree that it would be better if the factory controls for the heated seats were used instead of aftermarket buttons. I assumed that the wiring harness for the Touring would be similar to the GTouring so the original controls could be used. I'll investigate this further with the nearby dealer.
