Hello,

I just bought a MZ3 a few months ago and am plannning a fun spring of fluid changes and wanted to know if the AT fluid can be changed in my garage or if I have to take it somewhere. I hear that some AT have to be pressure flushed and pressure filled...true? This is my first AT car...ever...and it will be my last...unless my wife wins...and she probably will...

no you do not have to have it flushed. but draining it only gets some of the old fluid out. drain, refill, run the car for a little bit to get the extra metal out, drain again, fill again. enjoy!

The best thing I'd recomend is take it to your local service center or Mazda dlr and pay the 125.00 and get a BG brand transmission flush. It completely transfuses all the fluid and will be like new with no side effects. I work at a dlr and highly recomend this service. I BG my cars every year. my 2 cents.
