Camshaft position sensor bolt size? 2013 CX-5

Hello,

I was replacing the camshaft position sensor on my 2013 cx5 and dropped the bolt into the abyss. I can order a new one but it cost more in shipping than it does the actual part.

I can’t for the life of me find the size of that thing anywhere.

Does anyone know a replacement or applicable bolt I can use ?

You can always go to a Mazda dealer to get a pcorrect bolt. You don’t have to pay shipping even if the dealer has to order it for you.

Yea. I ordered one thru the dealer, but it won’t be here for over a week. It is my sons car and he needs it for work, so I’m trying to get it fixed quickly.


I ended up finding the bolt. Did not fix the issue, so I’m SOL anyways

Have a feeling it’s the timing..

This kind of incident happened to me several times. Usually I managed to retrieve the bolt or nut by the magnetic stick which saved my day.

About camshaft position sensor, what DTC do your get? It seems there’re 2 camshaft position sensors according to @cz5gt:
