Is this the intake you were referring to ?

This is not a CAI, by an stretch of definition. It's a SRI, by appearaces. And speaking of which, this intake definitely wins first prize for originality. It's kinda cooool ...

There is no way you will get a 7hp gain from any intake for our cars. Maybe 1-2hp for a SRI and 2-5 for a CAI.

that much power at the wheels is doubtful...many at the crank...

anyhow, it's an original intake, but I belive they sell a kit with a heat shield and some kind of vaccum hose with a vaccum tip you can screw into the front grill or something, essentially making it a CAI with the filter in an SRI position.

Actually, don't think of that as a CAI, but as an SRI with a Ram Air Kit...I think that's what they're called...

guys these intakes dont do s***.
please dont waste your money unless all you care about is looks.
unless you plan on some exhaust and intake piping to get "ambient " air from the outside of the vehicle. you WILL NOT SEE ANY gains what-so-ever. HP is gained if any at the very upper limits of the rpm band. unless you are going to drive to redline in every gear from stoplight to light every time and every day then you'll never even "see it".

2. they never stated what car gained 7.2 HP. Are they retarded engines don't universally act the same modification.
3. Judging from how they advertise and promote their products they look like another company like APC

Actually i had the V2 hyper intake system on my old 94 Protege LX and i felt a Major difference in the car. Upper towards the 4000rpm- through it's 7000rpm redline. I had quite a few other mods to that car, and i actually took quite a few Civic Si's, and Integra GSR's. For that thing only having a 1839CC 1.8L DOHC 16-VALVE engine, with 125hp and 114ft-lbs of toque, I could easilly take off like my Friends SpecV. Plus that car only weighed 2359lbs. It was way quicker than the MP3, even the LX being stock it was quicker than the MP3. That car had some BA**S, i had tooken it up to 135mph quite a few times and let off. Sometimes i felt like seeing what the car could do, and just take it up to triple digits and it got to like from 100-120mph in like 12-16sec. NO BU**SH^T. (I miss that car)
