Cadillac CTS-V Sportwagon Is Go!

500x_Cadillac_CTS_V_wagon.jpg

Our prayers have been answered for a US uber-wagon as GM has confirmed Inside Line's claim that the Cadillac CTS-V Sportwagon is go! No word yet on details, pricing or timeline. Only the cryptic tweet from Scott Oldham below.

"Cadillac CTS-V Wagon is on. GM source has confirmed to me that CTS-V Wagon will exist along with the sedan and coupe.^SO"

mmmmmmm.....I'd love to have the CTS-V sportwagon in my garage. It's a shame my checkbook disagrees.

I think this is going to be the problem here. As awesome as this car is going to be, I just can't see it succeeding in the US market. How many people are there who think that a 500hp station wagon has to be in their garage AND can afford one?

I'll definitely be keeping an eye out for one on the used market when the time comes for me to buy a new car, but there's no way I'm paying almost $60k for a new one.

hmmm i like it!!
the tail lights could look better but its a cadillac so i guess they had to have the same weird tail lights as all the other cadi's

IMO a majority of the people that could afford this new would rather buy a BMW/Porsche/insert other luxo SUV here instead of a kick-ass wagon.

Give me the wagon any day of the week.

Peekaboo: Cadillac CTS-V Wagon spied in L.A.?

Well, it sure looks like it. All credit for this one goes to one Aaron P., who emailed the following to us:

So I was walking down Grand Avenue in Downtown LA, and they were shooting a Caddy commercial. There was a covered car, which I thought was the CTS Coupe, but the wind blew off the cover and there was a CTS-V Wagon. I only had time to snag this pic before they put the cover back on but you can see the wagon lines. I hope that means its coming cause that would be an amazing car.

Seems like Aaron got awfully close for this pic, a curiously *perfect* upskirt teaser, but regardless of the circumstances behind it, reports of the CTS-V Wagon being given the green light date back to September of last year. It's basically been a guessing game of which show will provide the backdrop for its formal unveiling.

With New York the sole remaining major show on the U.S. circuit this year, and Bob Lutz's retirement scheduled to begin exactly one month after that, we'll bet our whole chip stack that El Generalissimo Roberto Maximo goes out with a bang, introducing the CTS-V Sport Wagon at the Javits Center, because the car in the above photo is most definitely a wagon, that is most definitely the "V" badge, and those are the correct wheels. Very badass, indeed.

Cadillac CTS-V Wagon: Bigger, Longer And More Uncut

500x_cadillac_cts-v_wagon.jpg

This is it the Cadillac CTS-V Wagon fully unmasked at a marketing photo shoot. It's the stretched-out high-power people-hauler every automotive journalist has been waiting for. Let's just go ahead and call it the Cadillac of awesome.

Of course we expect the CTS-V Wagon will come equipped with the same 550 HP+ 6.2-liter LSA engine as it's sedan and coupe brothers. Frankly, what more do we need to know? The fact that we have a real picture of this vehicle we never thought would see the light of day is the only news we need to read. Do want.

So what if Bob Lutz is gone. His legacy lives on.

ill still take a 3 series wagon...

If they made an M3 wagon, there might be a decision to be made here. Actually, the CTS is supposedly meant to compete more with the 5-series. I guess it's 5-series size for 3-series price?

E63 AMG wagon, on the other hand...

If this sells well, perhaps the German 3 will bring over their high end wagons (RS6 Avant, E63 AMG Wagon, M5 Estate)
