Buying Help

Hi there.

In the market for a couple vehicles and stopped by the Mazda dealership and test drove a 2005 Mazda 3 GT. Manual transmission, leather, sunroof, AC the works. Selling for $16,995 CAD. It has 99000 KM on it and I wanted to hear from other Mazda owners if this is a good deal or not. He is only willing to budge $1000 for the vehicle and the monthly payments are $236 (Again, all in CAD).

I enjoyed the car and it rides beautifully but this is my first dealership purchase and I want to see whether or not I'm getting a good deal or not.

Thanks.

sounds like to much to me... but i can't do all the conversions in my head nor do i know if its a direct conversion into US$ or are there other factors... i wonder if some of the canadain members have a better idea.

Using a USA NADA on line price guide and a US to CAD converter the average dealer retail shows around $12,530 CAD. Used the options you listed and 60,000 miles. Prices are for a nice clean car.

Based on that information your dealer seems to have the car over priced. It will soon be a 5 year old car.

Try looking it up in the NADA price guide for Canada. I couldn't get it to work for a quote in Canada.

For reference, I just bought a 2008 Mazda3 GT with sunroof, bose with 17k miles for 18k
