Buying an S60R

Yeah go 6spd with these type of cars. Drove quite a few in my line of work and the auto's feel so much slower and just lack the driving excitement. I hope you are aware of the cost to own one of these cars. If you have it dealer serviced it is not cheap. If you don't buy it from a volvo dealer I strongly recommend you get the car checked out by one.

My buddy has a 04 S60 R that he has put tons of miles on with no problem. A engine mount did break but he changed it out in 20 minutes. I would love a S60 R. I actually tried to trade the Altima in for it but they would not come down on the price.

The dealer has had it on their lot since early last summer.

edit: Wait this is the same one you are looking at. Its actually in Somersworth at Key Auto on rte 108.

Yeah the old style top tq. mount is very poorly designed. The new volvo's are coming out with a new style that seems to be un breakable. But no big deal they are easy as pie to change.

I have driven the s*** out of one before and,I did not like the shifter in them at all.

It feel's like a video games shifter just wierd to me like it had no mechanical connection at all....I think I read somthing about them having a electronic shifter?

Anyhow,It was a damn fine car beside's that!

I also say you should go with the red one.Seem's like a very good price! The one that I drove stickered for 48K(boom05)

Yeah the shifter does have an odd ass feel to them. I really like how they have no shift boot though.

Original poster have you thought of getting the V70R ? I guess it's all personal taste but I love how they look. Would be fun beating people in a 5 door as well

I like the look of this bad boy

If the new style S40's did not have there share of problems I would love to mod an AWD T5 6spd. They just feel so nice when driving them. Just to much money though. Someday I will pick an 740 turbo and have fun with that

The shifter linkage are cables, volvo would just screw it up if they designed some sort of electronic shifter module linkage deal (rlaugh)
