Buying a Mazda3 Speed Gt, Help!

Hi Guys

I need some advice from you experts out there. I'm looking forward into buying a used Mazda3 GT - 5 speed Automatic. Since I've heard some good and bad things about the Mazda3 Speed, I need you guys to direct me in the right path. I want to purchase any versions from 2004 to 2008, is there any one of them ''better'' than the other? Or which version is the ''best''? And finally, what should I look into when buying this car (such as repairs and defects...).

i would say 2004-2006 if ya can only because they started introducin the pzev models in 2007 (so ive been told) and the pzev is some emission crap that loses 5hp. I would say to look out for the most would be just a good previous owner, make sure they dint beat the car, it was well maintained, garage kept if possible, and regular maintenance. Obviously if there was any factory recalls (not sure if there was) that those were tooken care of! (2thumbs)

Theyve all been pretty solid Ive owned an 04, 05, and an 08 3 and no problems.
Owned the 2.0L and the 2.3L....nothing that I know of to steer clear of except for fat chicks.
