I had a little over the past 2 weeks only because I didn't have my MSP to drive around and I have just been forum surfing.... It's ok though because I convinced myself I made the right purchase. I don't really need to be the fastest dood on the road so everyone that got an SRT-4 good for them they are sweet cars (bare bones for speed) just not the best thing for me as a 17 year old. The main reason is looks. Im sorry but our MSP's look so awesome SRT-4's cant even compare! That is the only car that I *would* have taken over my MSP for the price range (and maybe the wrx, but its in a different class). OK so I was also thinking about all those fast (straight line fast) USED DSMs and Civic Hatchs, but the problem with those is they arent new, no financing, and EVERYONE has them. So once again I am glad I bought my MSP because it's still a top 5 car in our price range for new cars, and it's all personal preference (kind of). IF I had $15k more though I wouldn't have even looked at MSP's I would have gone straight to EVO's and STI's! And then again if I had $70k more I would have just gotten a porche *sigh* its true the grass always seems greener on the other side... I <3 my MSP :D

okay, who the **** voted yes?

its not like you didnt have enough time to contemplate the choice...you only had about 8 ******* months... :p

this car rocks...sorry it doesnt do 0-60 in 5.6 seconds, but thats not a reason to be remorseful about...

my MSP has not had any major problems...yeah it squeaks every now and then...ive heard the clunk once or twice...but you know what, its FINE. it goes away...no oil leaks, no coolant leaks, no stalling, nothing is wrong.

and everything will get even better when the weather nicens up and winter finally dies. i will have more time to spend with my car, working on it and modifying it.

NO REMORSE!!!!

I Love my MAZDASPSEED - absolutely no regrets!! But; you all know how I feel!

I've only had my MSP for a brief while....However I did my homework before I bought it so I knew what I was getting into (clunks, Chipmunks Laughing, Premium Fuel, etc.). When I'm at home and have no where to go I'm itching for an excuse to drive it! That will wipe out any buyers remorse for me. Yes it's a limited production vehicle but you don't have to drive it like a $70k Porsche...YOU CAN HAVE FUN WITH IT AND NOT WORRY TOO MUCH! Clearly a biased opinion but it's mine none the less.

I LOVE MY MSP JUST AS MUCH AS GREG... I CANT COMPLAIN ABOUT ANYTHING.. IM SO GLAD I BOUGHT THIS CAR RATHER THAN ANY OTHER... I GOT MY SPARCO HARNESSES TODAY :) THEY ARE COMFY

Love my car, dont care that it isnt a straight line car, lets see a civic take a hard turn at 35 and see what happens. This car is the whole package and I love it

i picked up my msp on a friday, the following monday my friend went to pick up his used is300 for 4000 more and i thought FOR SURE going into the dealer and all day on friday that this was a mistake. Why dont i spend 4k more (which i had) and get an is300?!?! is a LEXUS!! soooo pimp lookin! sunroof! leather! cruise control! 215hp!!!

I have 2300 miles on my MSP and it clunks a lot, and I have driven my friends is300 on several occasions

and IN NO WAY SHAPE OR FORM do i in ANY MEANING OF THE TERM have "buyer's remorse"

I do however have buyer's im-so-happy-i-could-bust. I get it every day when I walk out of work and see my orange car with those big round fog lights starin at me and I say to myself "thank god I have a 1 hour commute". Also when I am in traffic on 95 going to or from work, and I shoot through a hole in traffic with the nudge of the pedal after cruising at 3k rpms. I get this feeling when I see the sun hit the orange paint. When the roads are clean and the weather is warm enough to crack a window and i zoom around some twisties in my town, or when I catch a passing car checking out my ride, or better yet, the driver's gf. Whenever someone says "who's orange car is that?" or someone yells "nice car" to me when im pumpin gas...

I thought i would have buyer's remorse, i really did. I mean, after building myself up for a car for 9 months!!!! and it after all is ONLY a protege......HOW could it possibly live up to my expectations?

but there is none. not even a corpusel, an ioda, or a hint of remorse. If anything I sometimes feel like I got an awesome deal on the car. I feel like im driving a 25k+ car that I am only paying 20k for! i love it!

[end rant]

I have some remorse about mine. Not because I dont like my MSP but because there was nothing wrong with my MP3. I have thought about this alot, why did I trade in a perfect car that I was paying 320 a month on and 100 on insurance for. To get a car with 30 more hp and what was a 525 a month (now after refinance is 440 a month) and 160 for insurance? When I had done so much to my MP3 and loved that car alot.

But on the other hand in the long run the insurance will go down my income will go up and hopefully mods for the MSP will start to flow. So then I feel a little better but there will always be a place in my heart for my MP3. (it was my first car also) It was hard to "cut the cord" though.

I love the car. The only remorse I have is not really from the purchase but more from having to drive it like I do. I live in the city and work in the city. I don't really get to drive it like it should be driven that often. In fact, I feel bad for the poor car with the stop and go, potholes and never getting out of second gear. It's so frustrating.

I DO have buyers remorse, but not because of the car. I have been very happy with it.

My problem is my dealer: They are the biggest pack of F$CKING MORONS I HAVE EVER (!!!!!!) HAD TO DEAL WITH!

Here is my list of greivances:

1.) The rear valance was cracked when I got the car, and the PDI didn't catch it

2.) The dealer didn't have a CLUE about how to handle a deposit

3.) My salesman decided he wanted to take my delivery day off, after telling me he'd be there that day

4.) The subsititute salesman was an ASSHOLE

5.) The only friendly, concerned person at the dealership is an 18yr old kid who DOESN'T KNOW A GODDAM THING about ANYTHING

6.) I agreed to pay to have them take the old struts off my old car and put the stock ones back on (so I could have them back) It took them 1.5 HOURS to find the invoice so I could pay for the work!!!! The only person (that's right, only ONE) was not there that day. Neither was my salesman (BIG surprise there...)

7.) When I had them take care of the cracked valence, I gave them 3 days notice, then dropped off the car on monday, with a promise of getting it back tuesday PM. At 1pm tuesday, they call me and tell me I won't get the car back until FRIDAY because THEY CAN'T FIGURE OIT THE F$CKING PAINT CODE!!!! They had plenty of time TO TAKE CARE OF THAT BEFORE I DROPPED OFF THE CAR, you know..... make sure you have EVERYTHING you need BEFORE you start.....

8.) The gas tank was empty when I picked up the car, even thought the PDI paperwork had it signed off as full. I ended up PUTTING MY OWN COMPLEMENTARY TANK OF GAS IN THE CAR ( with a certificate for the local Chevron station.)

9.) The PDI alignment was NOT done. I had an alignment done last week, and the TOE settings were OUT TO LUNCH!!! There is SUPPOSED to be .1deg of toe OUT at all four wheels. Instead, I found .23deg and .15 deg toe IN in front (that will mess up the handling) and more disturbingly, .3deg toe OUT and .4 deg toe IN in back. The car was CRABBING DOWN THE F$CKING highway!!!!!

Suffice to say, this car has been the WORST retail experience of my life, hence my buyer's remorse. I cannot believe I put money in the pockets of that F$CKING dealer!!!!

All of the above leads me to beleive the PDI was simply NOT DONE!!!!

How incompetent can you get?

Or as I like to put it: They couldn't organize their way out of a TORN paper bag.....

No remorse here. I can live with the clunk till the problem is found and a corrective measure is fixed. The ony thing I have found less then what I was expecting is the sub. It just does not hit like im used to. (ino its ony an 8 inch sub) but other then that, I AM SO FRIKIN HAPPY I BOUGHT THIS CAR THEN THE SRT-4.

Scapamouche:

I know how you feel - my experience with Cush Mazda in Escondido, CA was bad as well. Not quite that bad, but I cut it off before it could get worse.

1. I made an appointment with the Fleet Manager; she was "at lunch" when I got there.

2. I dealt with a substitute salesman. Nice guy, but wanted to jerk me around big time. He wanted a $1000 deposit, instead of every other dealership on the planet only wanting $500. :bs:

3. Then he told me that the deposit doesn't hold the car for me. "If someone else comes in and wants to sign the paperwork before you do, we're going to sell the car to him. The only way to guarantee you get the car is to sign the paperwork yourself, first." :bs: That's total crap as well - any other place on the planet, you put money down, the car is YOURS until you say otherwise.

4. As I thought about signing the paperwork before even seeing the car, I went back and asked him what would happen if I decided I didn't want the car after seeing/driving it. He said, "You have to buy the car. Once you sign the paperwork, we're turning away other interested buyers, so you're obligated at that point." :bs:

5. At that point, I got a hold of the Fleet Manager I was supposed to have dealt with from the beginning and told her what had been going on. She even said what he told me was crap, and I started to work with her. I put down the deposit, and she told be the car would be in on Monday.

6. Come Monday, no call about the car. I called her and she said, "Where did you get the idea it'd be here Monday?" When I said, "You told me." she replied with, "Well, I meant sometime after Monday." :wtf:

7. All through the week there were no calls, no info. I called twice, and the Fleet Manager was never there. I spoke with another guy, and all he ever told me was "we expect it this week." Not once did anyone say, "Let me check into it" or "Let me see what's taking so long, and I'll get right back to you".

8. Finally, Thursday night, I called and left the Fleet Manager a message. She called me back at 8:30pm and said, "Well, it might be in after Thursday of next week." I said fine, and hung up.

9. At point 8, I decided I had been screwed around enough, and they must not want my money. I started looking around, and Krillin hooked me up with a Phong at Irvine Mazda. I told him my story, and he bettered Cush's price, and I went and bought the car from him the next day. ;)

Cush still hasn't gotten the car in, or if they have, they haven't called me. I'm going to go over on my lunch break, in my new car, and get my deposit back. Screw them - they didn't want my money, they don't get it. Phong was a great guy, helped me out, and got me a great deal. He earned it, and can enjoy the commission on the sale and my perfect customer rating that he'll get. :D

I voted yes. Only reason is I want a orange one now. :'( I just saw one and it is hot. But i would never sell my baby. This car is a head turner, fun to drive, and complete. On the clunk I have yet to hear it, no problems at all actually besides the one i stated before.

No regrets here either. Damn Winter, i haven't even gotten a chance to drive my car around with my Racinghart's yet. Ever since i got my car, it has been winter tires and steelies. That's how i had to break into my car, and up to date, it's still been snowing, wintery temperature (- always below 0), slushy, icy etc.
I hate winter...i don't even get to enjoy my car the proper way.
I can't wait 'til spring arrives, so i can get my 17's back on and wax her up.

I love my car too! :D

Hey bro-in-law... I knew I'd find you here!

Just to chime in and agree, while I dont have a MSP, my P5 has been a blast to drive and admire, but my dealer experiences have all pretty much been total crap. That sucks because there are only two of them close to me.

The latest example... I go to the parts dept and ask for a set of OEM wiper inserts. The parts guy tells me that they only sell the cut to size ones. I ask why, and he says Mazda only makes the cut to size inserts because otherwise they would have to make different sizes for all cars (good reasoning skills, huh?). He doesnt seem to budge when I tell him that other car makers do sell OEM inserts. He also didn't take it very well when I asked him to double check for me (I must have insulted his manhood or something)

Needless to say, when I called the other dealer close to me, the parts guy said he had eight sets of OEM inserts available.

Just one of the most humorous exchanges I've had with my dealer.

hee hee. i'm glad that john is happy (hachiman).

yeh, i'm liking my car. i am driving it the way i initially drove it and i just got tint. going to post pics as soon as the tint cures fully. only thing is that i wish i could find some sort of way to plug up those front license plate holes on the bumper. someone kept telling me about these so called, "rubber plugs" but i have not seen or heard anything about them.
