Burnout Question??

Every time i try and squawk my tires it feels like the car is bouncing of the ground not soft but very hard. it makes a very loud sound and i feel it on the right side. it goes BOOM BOOM BOOM. its very rough feeling. the tires spin but not smoothly. why is that? why is that? did anyone else have this problem?? its right around 4500-5000 coming out of first like as soon as i pop the clutch.

wheel hop. need stiffer motor mounts such as awr ones. but they can cause vibration around 1500 rpm.
Why are you burning out?

Wheel hop. thats a first, i've never hear that before. is it because our car is front wheel dr.? I've had the car for about a month and a half and had'nt really gotten on it yet. I just wanted to see how long i could squawk em and how long of a patch i could lay.

No need to rev up that hard to launch or anything. Your car will spin the tires under 3k if you want... Just a thought....

i forgot about the ebrake... i just did the search on the wheel hop, thanks guys, i definitely won't be slamming it out of first anymore. once the tires grabbed though, i'd did lay a rather nice patch!!

Actually people I think he is describing the limited slip diff. Wheel hop is if you launch at pretty hard. You will feel the limited slip under any wheel spin.

No...that hard bounce is wheel hop, for sure. If you try to smoke 'em revving to high instead of feathering the clutch you'll wheel hop like crazy, too.

Wheel hop pissed me off. Especially in wet conditions, I really couldn't step on first at all.

AWR front motor mount eliminated 80-90% of my dreadful wheel hop - much happier now.

Classic Wheel hop.
The LSD you feel in turns.

Also, the stock tires are fairly sticky, you probably wont lay a long track of rubber.. but you can spin em pretty good

you have wheel hop in wet conditions too when you nail first? I was not really sure if it was wheel hop or lsd? I assumed it was wheel hop.

definitly wheel hop, get some mounts and you will be happy that the wheel hop is gone. but then you will vibrate like crazy.

YOU WANNA KNOW ABOUT BAAAAAAAD WHEEL HOP GET A SPEC V.....jesus christ that's what everyone complains about when they get a spec v....since it has a nice handful of torque, and the stock mounts are so soft, that's all you get it hop

heya sentra owner on a mazda board? welcome to the mazda board, i see u just signed on i raced one long ago... actually i wouldnt call it a race, cuz we didnt know what the hell we were doing... but i do like the spec v's real real nice, but my P5 is my luv... utility and all that... almost bought a frontier... now those were nice trucks im just counting down the days when i import the celica gt-4

He's right about the Motor Mount..I installed mine..Helped allot w/ the wheel hop..but my car..loves to viabrate at idle!!

Ohh..About the spec-v...They are nice...But only the spec-v...the basic sentra..is s***..slow as a dog!

Thanks man....I don't know how much you know about Nissan engine's but the Sentra Se2.0 has potential too (it has a SR20DE), but in stock form it is slow, but it is the most popular Nissan engine.

Even in my Protege5 I got gobs of wheel hop on a hard launch. I replaced my front motor mount with AWR's motor mount, and now those tires just slip nicely, then grabs smoothly once they decide to stop spinning. I've not chirped or squealed the tires very much since I got the Yokohama AVS ES100's, as the compound seems to be more suited to a nice, predicable slide rather than a squealing ripping-the-tarmac-up-and-trying-to-cling-for-dear-life that the factory Dunlop's offered. =) Those things made lots of noise if I let them slide at all!
