Built FS-DE Block

:
2003.5 White Mazda Protege5
I have seen build blocks on ProtegeGarage.Com but I cannot see spending $3300 right now. I was wondering if anyone knows where I might be able to find a build block. Any help is appreciated. Thank you!

unless you plan on build it yourself, i dont know what you mean by "finding" one.... like in a junkyard? or do you want someone to hand you over one for next to nothing?

No need to be a smart ass man. I simply meant other places online like Protege Garage and ********** that might also sell a built motor.

well, unfortunately you're not going to be paying less than 3k for a fully built FSDE....Kooldino sells them too...but like i said....not cheap...

when it comes to car, unless you do it all yourself, you have to pay to play. Another vendor is www.speedcircuit.net, but you'll be paying the same amount. You're paying for the high quality parts, and the labor that goes into rebuilding a motor from nothing.

yeah what are you asking? protegegarage also has stock engines for a grand...and you could rebuild it yourself and save the labor costs...but 3300 fully built and ready to go is considerably cheaper than buying the parts seperately, and taking it to a local shop or something to have them do it...

its either that 3 grand, or you build it yourself...

Yup, Installsheild and Rogue said it perfectly. If you're looking to get something cheap, then a forged motor is not for you. $3300 is a bargain for a forged Protege engine.

Buy the parts yourself, build it yourself and have your block machined at RPM here in AZ.

Eli, any idea how much RPM charges to have the block machined? I think what I am going to do is buy a used block from a junkyard that is in working condition with good pistons and and then build my stock block.

Not sure. But I do know that mental addiction used them at one time.

I have a FS short block I'll sell to you for $250. It's in good condition and is ready to be machined. PM me if you are interested.

I'd rather find a block that I can just drop into my car. I really don't have the time or money right now to buy a built block or to buy the parts needed to rebuild mine. I was hoping to find one at a junk yard or something that I can just "drop in" and bold my cylinder head and stuff onto and call it good until I do have the time and money to build a block.

any updates on where to find blocks these days? i know this is an old post, but zoom zoom boom strikes again, fried the rings on the pistons. MAM is gone arent they?
Protegegarage.com and speedcircuit both have messages.
what kinda wait period is there for a built block, does anybody know?how ****** am i for shipping this into Canada?
