broken pcv?

well i tried pulling it out(my first time ever doin this)and this is what i ended up with. doesnt really look rite....tho there isnt any jagged edges that shows that something was snapped off. should the whole thing have come out from the valve cover?

i've never taken it out of my mp3, but all the other cars i have taken it out of, the whole thing came out of the valve cover. did you buy a new one...just see what that looks like and compare. it looks broken to me... just me opinion though.

Yes, the whole peice (except the rubber grommet) should come out together. Yours is clearly broken.

You can pick up a new one from an auto parts store for a just a few dollars.
