Broken forged piston

The thing I didn't like about the Arias postons (I've destroyed 2 sets now) was how sharp the edges are where they machine them. Sharp edges mean hotspots.
 
Damn old thread! I wonder what my JE pistons will look like when I rebuild? I have had them in for 5 years, and over 100K miles without oil squirters...

I would think fine. Was it not a problem tuning around detonation with the 9:1 compression?

Btw Patrick and I are working to figure out the Haltech trigger settings once and for all on the "other" forum.

I have never had a issue with sharp edges on any,but at the same time I get all of them coated,I never run the raw aluminum for the tops.

Because I was one of the first with forged pistons, and they didn't clearance the JE pistons for the oil squirters. They got chopped off by the pistons!!(dark)

but you haven't had issues yet I suppose.
