it's like the p5 had a twin who was born with a heart defect that kept it from growing at the right pace. the dimensions are outta whack.

overall car is bunk

Mazda2 wouldn't fit the US market. If anything, the Japanese-market only Mazda Verisa (based off the Mazda2 platform) would be much better suited for N. America. The MX MicroSport concept was the concept car for the Verisa - the concept car has quite a bit more of a rugged than the production Verisa. The concept car debuted in N. America for the sole purpose of gauging potential interest in N. America and Europe. Giving the car the rugged concept car looks would make the car much more receptive in N. America.

what a strange little car.. it looks like a protege mated with a chevy aveo (daewoo kalos)

they suck and are just as ugly in person as those pictures make them look, if not worse. they can stay where they are

The only GOOD thing about that car is you can put it in your pocket where ever you go.

This from a Protege owner? The 2 must look smaller in photos than it is in reality...

I've seen many of these overseas. They actually look kinda neat in person, kinda like a shortened Mazda3. First time I saw one I had to do a double take.

the base model images at the top are not all that attractive (but neither is a stock Protege DX if you ask me)

with some side skirts, alloys, and fog lights, it looks pretty nice - like rosco's picture (still needs a slight drop, I think)

I dig small cars (2thumbs)

I kinda like it. Add some nice wheels, a little drop...I'll bet that little bastard doesn't weigh much. What kinda power plant does it have?

Depending on the market, it ranges from 1.2l to 1.6l - with every increment in between! The 1.4l and 1.6l is also used on the Mazda3 for certain markets. In addition, euro-spec Mazda2 also has a 1.4l diesel.

The only engine available here is an 82kW 1.5L - my 2 is a Genki (top of the line) with ABS, air, cruise control, 'lectric windows etc...pretty much anything you could want except climate control air and trip computer.

The wheels in the photo are the stock Genki 15" items. I'm still debating lowering, but this is not a "town" car and roads where I go are often not the best.
