Break In... Yet Again!

:
2003.5 White Mazda Protege5
So I moved clear across town into what I thought was a better area with my girlfriend (I'm talking 30+ miles) and someone broke into my car, yet again! The first time? I don't even think it has been two months yet. ******' people. Sorry for the language. Neither time did they get anything, just broke the window. The alarm went off and I am guessing they split. My alarm pages me and I thought nothing of it because the battery was low on my keypad so I thought it was malfunctioning. Yeah! I am buying a gun now.

Anyways, I am thinking about selling my ride.

sorry to hear about your luck

i gotta invest in an alarm soon, most likely my next mod

i paid $125 when i replaced mine.what is it w/these people now?i never messed w/anyones car when i was younger (im only 25).why cant they appreciate someone elses good fortune!anyway sorry to hear that.

I tinted my windows so no one can see the goodies inside and put a bright LED on each front door kinda like the VW alarms. Haven't had a problem since.

I am not sure you wanna sell your car because of break ins. There is a lotof other makes and models that are more popular to steal. If you do sell it, get a 1990 Dodge shadow. My wife had one, did not lock the doors for years. unfortunately, it never got stolen.

hahahaha i had a 1990 shadow! i never locked it. prayed every night that some dumb crackhead would hotwire it. never happened, eventually i blew the radiator and sold it. but dude, that car was such a piece of crap!

hers was white with the customer gray pinstripe in the center where the paint fell off, and the headliner held up with pushpins. It not parked facing up a hill, it would empty the negine and transmission of fluids overnight. Thatis the perfect threft deterrent vehicle to sell the p5 for. Unfortunately, you will be driving a dodge.

ah I had the champagne. it was a handmedown from my sister. can u believe she actually chose that piece of s*** new??? i got it with 40k on it and blew it before 60. it would overheat if it was more than 75 outside. now, i live in socal, so thats every damn day. eventually i sold it for a civic.

Her shadow only had 742xx mileson it for about 5 years. Of course, that is because it broke. That would have been a reason for an idiot to steal it, thinking low mileage, but noooooooooooooooo.

Another thought to get back on topic. Get a house and garage. Oh, and get a gun too.

say man call me crazy, but that maybe someone who knows you

I originally thought that it was someone who knew me however, the only people that know me that know where I live now are actual friends that would never do anything like that. Only four of my friends know exactly where I live, the rest just know the city I live in. Anyways, yeah it really sucks. I called around yesterday and got a quote for $205 but they couldn't come until Friday (tomorrow) so I was like 'um, no thanks I will find it somewhere else'. Then he told me he could get it as low as $180 but still no one could come out until tomorrow. I still said no. Then I called my friend whose dad is a freelance claims adjuster. He found me a piece for $75, unfortunately I don't get it until Monday but I will wait to save myself $100+.

if your windows are tinted just sleep in the back a few nights if its a constant thing and jump out at the fools, scares um better if you gotta bat or something.

And they have a gun or something?

You could install the "burglar protection" that was on James Bond's Lotus in "For your eyes only". That way they could only break in at most one more time. Don't park it too close to your house though.

Ok, so I went and bought the glass for $100 yesterday at a local place here. It's OEM glass and that was all I really cared about. I was told by my friends father that it would take an hour of my time to replace. Haha! Whoa was he wrong. Thirty minutes! I got back to my buddies place, popped the door panel, pulled off the plastic on the door, pulled the old window out (in mostly in piece since it was tinted) and then cleaned up what I could, put the new window back on and then put the door panel back on. Nothing about it was difficult. There were two screws, like I was told, that hold the window on the regulator.

Anyways, I am not going to sell the car. What I think I am going to do is buy some more accessories for my alarm such as more LEDs and sensors, move my antena so it works at further distances and then tint the windows extremely dark, as dark as I can get them from the local shop. Thanks for the suggestions and what not. If this happens again, then the car is gone.

Do you just have the OEM alarm or an aftermarket one if so which?

I have an aftermarket alarm. It's a CrimeStopper. I buy them at cost and install them. I have no problems with them where as most people do not like them because they are 'cheap'. I personally disagree. : ) I would use a CrimeStopper over a DEI alarm any day just because I believe that since DEI makes all kinds of alarms (Clifford, Hornet, Viper, etc) that their alarms are of less quality where as CrimeStopper makes just CrimeStopper. Their support is awesome, too. http://www.crimestopper.com/alarm05.htm - I have the first one, the CS-2004TW2 - Two way LCD paging and Remote Start alarm. I can buy all kinds of add-ons for it, too.
