First time poster. I'll start off naming a few specs on my car

2007 Mazda 3 Hatch
2.3
5 speed auto transmission
26,500 miles

So I bought this car I've always wanted about 4 months ago with low miles and really good condition ( it had come into them as a trade a few days before, and i got a great deal since they hadn't any detailing or touching up and dint have a price on it)

First question is about the brake warning light. It came on about a month ago and I did all the usual checks of fluid, parking break, pads, rotors, (first car with ABS so I'm not sure if thats the issue). Now the light just wont go away. Its still under warranty but they tell me i need to drop it off for a day so they can look it over and I'll be without a car. No loaner, go figure. I live 60 miles form nearest dealer so thats an issue as well.

What do you think I shoudl check ? The car stop just as well as it did before it came on. Do these have a history of an issue with the warning light, shoudl i check the fuse myself, or suck it up and take it in.

Last question. Whats the record/history of the 5 speed auto on these. I've never had an auto before always a manual but I couldnt pass up the deal lol. things ?

If it's the light that comes on when the parking brake is put on.
It might just be bad switch in the center console under the cup holders.

If it's the ABS light it can be one of the ABS wheel sensors are bad.

Thanks ! I'll roll down there in the morning and give it a shot... make them fix it... oh how i hate warranty work...

Update on this... I took it to the dealer today and the master cylinder is going bad on it. Luckily its still under warranty so I am ok on that. Has anyone else had theres go out ? The brake light was on for about 2 months and the braking hadn't changed at all.

I also have an 07 mazda 3 hatch and I had mine go out this spring.
My light never went on, but the pedal was getting soft, fluid was leaking out of the master cylinder. It was right around the same mileage as yours too, right around 28,000. Strange

What was odd was it never lost any fluid and now that I think back it was a bit softer on the braking but considering I do drive about 30k+a year... I sometimes don't notice these things.

I defiantly felt a difference in the pedal, the first year I put on a lot of miles as I had an hour commute, my commute now is only about 25 min. Mine was leaking just enough that you could see fluid on the master cylinder, it wasn't enough to drip on the ground. I did add fluid and that didn't affect the pedal pressure so I knew there was problem.
