brake problems.....PLEASE HELP

so i put my 3 on the "park" gear and pressed my brakes and then turned off my car, but before i turned it off, i hear a "click" noise under the car every time i press my brakes when its in "Park position". any one else had this problem? any one know why you think its doing that? thanks....

might be the brake-shifter interlock: a mechanism that prevents you from being able to shift out of park (or from reverse to neutral, or from neutral to drive... not sure how mazda handles it) unless you have the brake applied. My thought: a little solenoid that would otherwise lock your shifter into park is being activated when you press on the brake (just in case you wanted to shift out of park).

probably normal operation... but I have a manual so I don't know, I get to deal with all sorts of fun clutch-start safety interlocks and a little switch on the ignition that makes me push it before I can remove the key.

Mine is as quiet as a church mouse... sorry no help there turbo. I have the 5 auto.
