Brake Pads

Previous Hawk HPS user here, too. They were a great compromise for mostly street/sometimes autocross. Mine were a little squeaky when cold, but that went away quickly after a few mild stops. Not much dusting, either. If you do track days, I would recommend a more aggressive pad like the HP+.

Well I installed the HPS pads on the front today. Had my stock rotors cut, there was a little lip on them. Anyone else have rotors cut because the guy said they were already below spec before the cut and were going to warp really easy after they cut them. I told him to do it anyway, didn't want to spend a few hundred on rotors right now. Anyway, easy install, I just need to bleed them a little more because the pedal is kinda mushy.

A few hundred on new rotors..I'll believe that when I see it. Aren't the rotors found on the regular mazda 3 the same as the ones on the Speed 3?

53K mostly hwy just had them checked have over 1/2" pad remaining in front . No track days just Milwaukee Interstate Grand Prix

Does anyone have any experience/preference with pads for these. I've been trying to decide between the ebc (probablly red) pads or hawks hps?

Also does anyone know where to buy a service manual from. My dealer doesn't want to sell one?

Hawks all the way. Stay away from EBC pads. They will munch your rotors. I've used HPS pads on my cars for years and absolutely love them.

(PS: You do not want the EBC reds for road use. You stick with the Greens is you go that route).
