Brake Pads

Does anyone have any experience/preference with pads for these. I've been trying to decide between the ebc (probablly red) pads or hawks hps?

Also does anyone know where to buy a service manual from. My dealer doesn't want to sell one?

i have the hps and like them alot. i had the ebc's on an svt focus and liked them but they squeeked a bit.

Hawk HPS are good for mostly street and some autoX usage. The EBC's red work well but are a little rough on rotors. If your going open tracking with the car, I would get the Hawk Blue's or HP+'s. Remember, brake pads are nothing if you don't have tires that don't break grip. So locking them up with cheapo tires means terrible braking performance no matter what pads you use. After any set you get, be sure to bleed the brake system out.

I just ordered the hawk hps. The car is just a daily driver so I didn't want anything that extreme. Appreciate the input.

Also I heard people have had the rears wear out quicker then the fronts. I can't see that possible as I have 40k on mine and the fronts just wore out, the rears are still fine.

Whoa...! You got 40k out of the original pads? Most peoples wear our after 12k miles

yeah good job with those pads man....i had less than 20k on rears and around 35k for the front orig pads???how did you do that???


but i got ceramics for replacements and i'm at 103k now and both sets are still good

Right on, I've been thinking about getting a p5 for a daily. Was going to buy another Honda but I think I'm starting to like Mazdas a bit more.

After 1 civic and 4 Integras the Mazda is actually the one not in the family. :lol: Now it's just 1 integra and the ms3.

i love my p5....cept for the 2 hit runs it's been though(on it not from it) i have had zero issues.... it runs great i still get like 35mpg highway(as long as i'm not playing) it's a great lil car

I used EBC back when I road raced in California and hated them. All I use now are the HAWK HPS or HAWK HP PLUS pads.
