Brake Noise

New here to the site. I have 08 Mazda 3 Hatchback with the 2.3 and a 5 speed.
I replaced the front Rotors and Pads yesterday. The old rotors were warped. Anyways replaced them with Napa parts. They seemed a little soft but everything else seemed fine. Until later in the evening, periodically the brakes would make groaning sound and NOT while applying the brakes. They also seemed to make the noise while turning left.

I did NOT use any kind of lube on the pads and I cleaned the new rotors off by spraying them with brake cleaner. Could they just be working themselve in? I have done may brake jobs in the past on much older vehicles and have never run in to this issue.

Also, the new rotors appear to be scatched on the bottom half.

Any all suggestions are appreciated. Thank you.

I had that sound too when I replaced mine last year. I replaced the rotors and pads. It stopped once the pads wore down a little bit. Basically break in period. They should be ok. Give it a couple weeks.

thanks. I actually went back to NAPA and after talking to him, he pointed out that he sold me pads that were not recomended by Mazda. After letting him know that it would have nice to know that info when I bought them he sold me the right ones and refunded my money for the other. Guess what? They work fine now! Thanks for the response though.

Yea, no problem. When I replaced mine, I went with drilled rotors and EBC Green stuff pads. They made noise for a little bit cause they were rubbing since they were all new there wasn't space. After a bit the noise stopped. That's not cool that he sold you parts that were not recommended for the car though... At least you got it worked out.
