For a while now I've noticed my bose deck makes an occasional "chirp" sound when I am playing MP3 CDs. Here are the observations:
1) it only chirps when playing back MP3's. Normal CD's do not cause this noise
2) it is not from the engine, because the car can be stationary and only in ACC mode, and I still hear it
3) it's not very loud, and I typically only hear it in low passages or in the silence between songs.
4) it seems to be more frequent now than before, and I seem to hear it every 10 to 15 seconds, providing the music itself isn't loud enough to drown it out
I'm 100% sure it's in the HU, since I do not hear anything on non-MP3 CD's. I'm kinda screwed since I've upgraded my system and I know as soon as the dealer sees my amp and s*** they're going to blame it on my aftermarket stuff, so I won't even bother.
More or less I'm curious if this is fairly common, cause I don't want to drop 3 or 4 hundred bucks on another HU in the future and have the same damn problem. I don't want to get an aftermarket HU and have crackheads busting up my s*** either, and the stock deck does everything I want.
