Boosting...

Maybe the extra heat is causing him to run richer so 10 w/ 11 spike isn't hurting the car as much. I'd rather have a smooth 9psi over a rough 10 though.

Was not a rough 10psi either (cool) Everything felt good and smooth like a car like this should be. And to the cone filter, I have a really hard time thinking that you lose 11hp from a cone filter. The stock airbox pulls in air from the same spot.

These cars are not fast! 15.1 or 15.2 or whatever bone stock is not fast. When I went to the track I had custom hardpipes, cone filter and 10psi which led me to a not so good run of 14.6. And that was all for about $300. You make your choice on what you think. Just read around and you will find some helpful info

I know there's a lot of helpful info on the boards. I've even contirbuted some of it here and there. If you IAT is reading warmer temperatures then you're going to run a bit richer was all I meant. I didn't mean to imply that your car's running roughly, either. I just meant I'd rather take my time boosting over stock and get a smooth 9 lbs of boost than going with a few light mods and hitting 11lbs.

Oh no man, didnt mean for it to come off like it may have (cool) It just really feels smooth. Like they say, all cars are different. Some people boost 8psi and go kaboom.

And I do see why the cone may not be such a good idea because it does sit right infront of the radiator fan.

...........and sucks in hot air.
my car was dynoed by K&N when they were prototyping Typhoon intake sysytem on it.
trust me.
i saw dyno sheets.
and i'm not the only one here who lost power (and gas milage) by sticking cone on the plastic pipe.
Slug420 i think had his car dynoed and lost somwhere arround 10 hp with the cone.
dont remember if it was him or not.......
