I just got my Defi boost gauge from ARunto in the mail and I want to install it but I don't know what wire to tap into. I want the gauge to be wired so that it will light up when my parking lights are on. Does anyone know what wire I should tap into?

by the left side of the steering column under the dash there is a white plug. forget how many wires. i believe its the green with black stripe. use a test light to check it.

or green with a black stripe works too... :D i'm at work so my posts are all like 10 minutes later, gotta hide from the boss lol

use the dimmer for your dash lights(left of the steering wheel)
there are three wires just use a tast light
post like this are for people to lazy to look for themselves.

www.geocities.com/jjrsae I have a pic of the light dimmer switch that I tapped into for my boost gauge. check it out, it should help you a bit. Pay no attention to the Mazda 6 in the picture it turned out to be a lemon..he he.

keep in mind, quite a few users have hooked their gauges up to the dimmer switch and it's left the gauge lighting the opposite of whatever the intrument cluster is. So, the car's gauges were bright while the boost gauge is dim and vica versa. Just hook it up to the foglight or parking light wire.

how would i go about fishing the vacuum hose from the guage thru the firewall? i know theres a hole/grommet where the existing wires are but how do i actually get it thru? its a PITA..any suggestions?

right behind the battery under the motor for the wipers is a rubber grommet that i used to put the hose through, just take a screwdriver and poke a hole through it.

Use a screwdriver to poke a hole then just go at it.

I used a razor to cut a slit in the grommet then put a metal clothes hanger through it from the engine bay side. Then I put the hanger inside the hose and taped them together with eletrical tape. Then I pushed the hose throught the grommet. It went right through.

ok thanks guys its done. now im installing my mbc and was wondering what a safe level to set boost at if i still have everything still stock pretty much..10psi? and where is the turbo outlet im supposed to attach the hose from mbc to? i bought the joep mbc and i know one goes to the wastegate but im not sure where the other hose connects.

10psi is fine.
Theres already a walkthrough and tons of pics, but if you look at the BPV, follow the vacuum line to it, it connects to a T. Disconnect the bottom line, that runs to the wastegate, connect the side connector of the MBC to that, and connect the bottom connector the the T.
Loosen the screw to reduce the boost, and tighten it to incease the boost.

thanks kyracefan....i cant say how much money this forum has saved me in installation lol...sure as hell beats payin ppl 30 some odd bucks to install mods

can i wire my boost guage lights to the wires running up my pillar? u know the set of wires that run towards the top of the car into the back?...that way i can just ground the black wire with the screw right there and splice in the white one to one of those.. has anyone done that? if so which wire did u use?

not too sure what that wire is.. moving to electronics section, maybe someone there can add their input
