Boost Gauge Questions.

So I just installed a new prosport evo boost gauge and I had questions. At Stopped IDE I run -23 to -24. When I am driving a constant speed say like 40 mph it reads -17. Whe I get on the throttle it will max out at 6 psi but only shortly the it will drop back to vacuum again. I was under the impression that I would always stay in boost as long as I was on the throttle. It seem like it doesn't boost for very long to even make a difference. Any input would be nice.

wheres your vac source connected to?
are the hoses nice and snug?
are your fittings nice and tight?
did you use clamps or zipties?

really not sure how you hooked up the sensor

I hooked up the seensor like the instructions showed. I have the vac line hooked up to the brake booster line on its own feed. I dont know if those numbers sound funny. I was hoping someone would give my the rundown on what it is suppose to read at idle, wot, ect.

Err....uh by your description, it sounds like your gauge is fine. You don't constantly boost when you're driving, boost occurs when you're speeding up. At cruise speeds/idle, the turbo will not boost so your gauge will show vacuum. Mine stays at -20 to -21 at idle and anywhere from -17 to -10 at cruise, depending on if the throttle is slightly pressed and will max at 6 psi when boosting.

If yours has an electronic sender, make sure you mount it securely and leave enough slack on the harness so that the clip isn't seeing any pressure. Mine and super1chow's senders have read wrong due to the clip being wiggled around. I bolted the sender down and mine is working perfectly.

Are you saying that at WOT (wide open throttle), your boost gauge reads 6psi then drops down to vacuum, even when you're holding the pedal down?
