what kinda BAT should be the most efficient on a stock tune? i got heat soaked at the track last night and ran like s***, so much the car just wouldn't create power. checked the readings and the temp sat steady around 175! could anybody give me info about what temp it should be? im ordering my FMIC next week but id just like to know what a good temp is.

Wow, if you run at 175 BAT, then good luck beating civics.. lol. I always log BAT and will never WOT it unless its under 115. What sucks is, all it really takes is about 10 minutes driving, and about 10 minutes of waiting doing nothing (even with car off) to have high temps.

But in the summer, I can see an average of about 120 if your driving around.

no i was in line for the 1/4mile, i ended up running 15's lol, it was horrible, but thanx

at 175 bat, you probably could have been knocking as well. After I started logging and paying attention to bat, it helped me understand how and when my car would perform a certain way. It's way more predictable now....

i kept an eye on KR, because i thought that was my issue at first, the car was boosting but not pulling. but the most i saw was 0.3 and that was when i let off from the 15 second run lol, man that is pathetic

Ouch.. I feel your pain!!

But yah, (depending on your mods; so I'm assuming almost stock) if your boost temps are from 115-130 you can keep your times around 14.3-14.8 (depending on launch). Over 130, I think 15 seconds will always be the result.

Optimum BAT temps where you'll get low 14's maybe high 13's would be under the 90 mark.

BTW... a front mount will definitely make a difference. Cooler charge and more air flow.

But in terms of BAT, this reading is taken from the map sensor so you could still expect to see about the same BAT pattern you have now (but slightly better). The FMIC will just cool that down much quicker cause there's no heat soak in it...

lol im far from stock man, just on a stock tune

yea FMIC is being order next week, and tune soon after that

Far from stock??.... 15's.... maybe I don't feel your pain :/
That must of really sucked!

yea, i was running alot better the week before, but o well i dont really base this car on 1/4mile time anyway, its not made for that. put me on the highway, i walk away from most things pretty easy. and twisties are really getting interesting.

Cheap track trick. Dump ice on your TMIC while you're staging. Cheap fix, works great at the strip.

Other then that, get water/meth injection. FMIC will still heatsoak while you're sitting there idling, waiting for your turn. It'll just drop temp faster once you start moving.

Water/meth injection will drop your BAT's like a rocket, increase your octane, clean your intake manifold/valvetrain, reduce knock, etc etc... And a decent kit with progressive controller is cheaper then an aftermarket TMIC.
