i have a boiling sound coming from the engine bay sounds like its coming from the radiator, ive checked the coolant levels and there normal anyone got any ideas on what it is? and is it normal

if that's a possibility, take it to the dealer for the oil change. let *them* be the ones to discover the problem, not you.

The headgasket?

Possibly.. but i doubt unless it was a faulty one, youd get coolant and oil mixing, and even then, i dont think that would cause a boiling noise.

Check the dipstick to see what the oil looks like, and or take it to the dealer ASAP.

it does it after ive been driving, and its been doing it for some time now, its coming up on a oilchange anyway, if i take her to the dealer i got to pull my guages out wich aint no big deal, but is there anything i can look for

look at your overflow canister and see if the coolant has any oil mixed in it.. keep your fingers crossed it does not.

What gauges do you have?
I hope you have oil pressure.
They wont be able to void your warranty for gauges, if anything, tell them its a bonus safety feature the car didnt come with stock... esp boost and oil pressure.

Does it for after youve been driving for a while... water temp gauge going up past half way?

Id say call the dealer and schedule an appt, and drive the car as little as possible until you take it in.

I dont think it sounds like a major issue yet, but im no mechanic.

ok i just checked the the oil dip stick and the the color looks a light brown but i didnt see anything else, and i smell a faint smell of radiator fluid some times, i checked the overflow and its a little dark but that might be due from lack of light,

also the guages i have are boost and a/f, the a/f aint hookedup yet just the boost

That coolant looks normal to me... is there any sludge in it?

The radiator fluid stink is likely the common coolant leak. Theres a coolant hose that runs right next to the turbo that has a weak clamp. Dealer will fix it free.

Boost gauge will not in anyway void your warranty.
And if the a/f isnt hooked up, then they cant say anything about the wiring.

i just took her for a short 20min drive and she didnt make the sounds after that drive, ill call the dealer tomarrow and setup a appt. should i tell them why and what i hear when i call?

and there dont appear to be any sluge in the runoff

This might be kind of obvious, but do you have snow in your area.

After a drive I can hear steaming from the snow hitting the exhaust.

Just a suggestion, good luck.

Come to think of, the sound my car makes when I'm braking sounds like something boiling. Odd that it only started happening after I had my coolant leak fixed. *shrug, oh well, nothing seems to be wrong with my car, yet.

Is this sound heard after driving hard and then idling the car in neutral or during braking or what?

it after i drive her for while and then when i park and let her idle when i get out of the car and walk in front of it you can hear it,, but it hasnt done it since i first started this thread didnt do it all day today

i think youre hearing the turbo spinning a little..
have you popped the hood while its doing it and tried to narrow down where the sound is coming from?
