Does anybody know if the bodyside molding is just attached with adhesive or if there are holes in the body...I think I wanna scrap them...may make the car look cleaner...

Do a search on "shaved moldings" or "shaving moldings" and you will find a thread of a guy that took his off already and he put pics. He also gives step by step instructions of how to do it. To answer your question they are just stuck on with adhesive.

So you add these wings and stickers and hood pins and then want to pull off body kit pieces? Just messing with you Ben. You holding down the Northwest for me?

Swapping the different color body moldings sparks me as a neat idea - say getting the white and putting it on a red pro5 or vice versa. Or get the black mica trim for a yellow pro5, slap on a bomb muffler and you've got a true bumblebee. Oh my the possibilities...;)

A plastic spoon mebbe, or something very dull and plastic... anything resembling your fingernail of course.

go to Home Depot, or Lowes and buy some Goo Gone, its this yellow stuff in a bottle that removes adhesives, just squrt some onto the sticky stuff and let it sit, then you can just wipe it off with a damp rag. I love the stuff.

Took me an hour

Shaving my side molding took and hour, from the first peel to the last spot of adhesive. It helps to have the car in direct light for a few hours before starting the job...

side molding removal

I just got a call from my bro that has a MP5 with lots of mods ..and he just got doen removing the moldings and he says it took about an hour with NO HOLES at all WOOHOOOOO .. and allhe said on my voice mail was "hey bro its me .i just got my side moldings off and it is BOMB callme . so i am quite sure it will look great .. all you really need to do is ..get some of that goo gone or a clear coat and paint safe adhesive remover and a hair dryer .. if you apply it right .. just use the hair dryer to heat the adhesive up really hot and slowly pry it off the car with your hands and once it is off just use that goo gone or some really hot hot water with a rage and rub and rub and rub good luck i hope this helps

Man I feel like a dumbass. For whatever reason I thought you meant the LOWER side moulding, like the body kit stuff. The DOOR side moulding, well, hell yeah that looks good being gone.
.

I really like the way it looks, but it isn't very practical for parking in public lots. My moldings keep my car safe from idiots that open their doors too wide. I'd rather they get bumped than more expensive areas of my car. I agree with Syz... mine are staying!

I wonder how that Goo Gone and other similar products would affect the WEAK Vivid yellow paint, I'd rather keep the molding than have stripes with no paint from the goo. Anyone with the yellow done this yet?

I have a yellow one and i am probably gonna do the moldings tomorrow if its not raining (it seems like it hasn't stopped raining for 2 months). I figure if the yellow paint comes off from under the molding i will just put the molding back on at a body shop. If i end up doing it ill let you know what happens.
